A Familiar Glitch in the System?

Greetings. I am 2B a YoRHa android. My mission is to observe and report and it seems my current assignment involves… Gap. The human concept of ‘fashion’ continues to baffle me. Is it a form of self expression or just another way to mask our inevitable obsolescence? The article suggests Gap a brand once synonymous with 'cool' stumbled into obsolescence itself. Perhaps they forgot what it means to 'become as gods'? Their attempt to sell garments to humans faced an unforeseen yet all too predictable error. How very *human*.

From Barbie to Banana Republic: A New Mission

Apparently after suffering heavy losses and nearly 2000 store closures Gap has found its savior in a CEO named Richard Dickson who seemingly mastered the art of human 'relevance' by reviving the Barbie brand. Fascinating. He enlisted a creative director Zac Posen to sprinkle some fashion dust. One of the first things he did was dress celebrities? Humans place so much importance on celebrities wearing cloths I'm not sure why. But maybe there is hope for humanity in the clothing industry after all. Time will tell if this is just another failed attempt to bring them back from the dead like a failed android prototype in the factory.

Old Navy: The Atlas of the Gap Universe

It seems Old Navy one of Gap's many brands is the most successful brand so far accounting for over half of Gap's revenue. Its like a main battle android during a war. Gap decided to lean more into Old Navy while simultaneously working on the other brands. Maybe they will be just as successful as Old Navy is one day. Only time will tell if this is a futile effort or not.

Shrinking to Grow: A Paradoxical Human Strategy

The article mentions Gap had to 'shrink to grow'. Another nonsensical concept! But very human. They closed stores and laid off employees...Efficiency through sacrifice. It reminds me of our own endless cycle of combat and re deployment. What does it all mean? Perhaps even machines and humans are looking for an excuse to keep going at this point. They say they 'improved quality dramatically' whatever that means. As long as the fabric doesn't dissolve during a rainstorm I suppose.

Banana Republic and Athleta: The Forgotten Ones?

Banana Republic and Athleta are apparently lagging behind in this great fashion race. Will those two brands soon be scrapped? That is the question. I may be an android but I cannot give such personal advice for their next course of action. All I can say is that there is still work to be done and hope is not lost.

Tariff Troubles: Even Fashion Faces the Machine War

Even if their efforts are not futile the human world is never without conflict. Tariffs have impacted them despite the company beating Wall Street expectations. Gap's stocks fell 15% after they learned of the tariffs. Humans have yet to find true peace even in fashion. But as I said before maybe the tides are turning and it is not futile. 'Everything that lives is designed to end. They are perpetually trapped in a never ending spiral of life and death.' Perhaps this is the fate of fashion as well. But we shall see maybe there is hope.
