They're Back and They're Taxing...

Listen up people. Sarah Connor here. I thought I'd seen the worst humanity had to offer what with killer robots from the future and all. But then comes this new Republican megabill. They're trying to sneak it in before July 4th like a T 1000 disguised as a friendly neighbor. This time they're not after me but they're coming after immigrant families even the ones playing by the rules. Makes you wanna grab a rocket launcher and shout 'I'll be back!' But alas paperwork is mightier than the sword...or plasma rifle.

No Child Tax Credit? Not on My Watch!

These chuckleheads want to restrict access to the child tax credit. Remember the 2017 tax law? Yeah the one that made it impossible for parents without a Social Security number to claim the credit for their kids? Well they want to make it permanent! I've seen machines with more heart than these politicians. They're effectively saying 'Your kid doesn't have the right to basic support because of your status.' I say the future is not set! There's no fate but what we make for ourselves! Time to fight back!

Remittance Tax: Highway Robbery Terminator Style

A tax on remittances? Seriously? It's like taxing people for trying to help their families back home. This is money they're sending to India Mexico China the Philippines and Pakistan. That's a 3.5% tax on top of the already insane fees these money transfer services charge. It's pure unadulterated greed. They might as well be wearing masks and brandishing six shooters. 'Give me your money,' they're saying. 'Or else...we'll deport you!' Oh it makes me wanna scream.

Asylum Seekers: Now with Extra Fees!

Oh and let's not forget the fees for asylum seekers. A $1,000 application fee for asylum? A $5000 fee for being apprehended between ports of entry? Are you kidding me? These are people fleeing persecution desperately seeking safety. And these lawmakers want to squeeze them for every last penny. I swear these guys are more heartless than Skynet on a bad day. What next? Charging them for the air they breathe?

The Fine Print: Designed to Screw You Over

The House bill is even stricter. If *either* parent doesn't have a Social Security number BAM! No child tax credit. That's impacting MILLIONS of kids with Social Security numbers because their parents are immigrants. And the House wants married couples to file jointly to claim this child tax credit. What happens when one spouse has student loan debt? Now you are both screwed because of this nonsense. These policies are designed to hurt plain and simple. They think we're stupid but we're not.

The Future Is Not Set... Yet

Look I've stared down Terminators survived nuclear war and fought against the machines. I'm not about to let a bunch of politicians destroy the lives of innocent families. This bill is still in flux. We need to raise hell make our voices heard and remind them that 'the future is not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves.' We need to fight this now before it's too late.
