YoRHa Unit 2B Reporting: The State of Affairs
Greetings Commander. This is 2B reporting from the front lines of... economics? It appears the human world is in a state of flux not unlike the machines we fight. Inflation that persistent foe showed signs of slowing in March a momentary peace like the silence before the storm. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose a mere 2.4% a number so small it almost feels... hopeful. But as Pascal would say 'Hope is a dangerous concept.' Especially when tariffs loom on the horizon.
The Tariff Menace: A New Enemy Unveiled
Ah tariffs. The human equivalent of a machine virus disrupting the flow of goods and inflating prices like a machine's self repair protocols gone haywire. Economists those peculiar beings who dedicate their lives to understanding human currency are worried. Mark Zandi chief economist at Moody's lamented that the tariffs are undermining any progress. He said 'It means nothing!' I concur; chaos is a ladder.
Gasoline Prices Tumble: A Moment of Respite
In a rare turn of events gasoline prices have plummeted. A small victory in the endless war. Perhaps the humans are finally learning to conserve resources a skill the machines perfected long ago. But let us not be complacent. As 9S often reminds me 'Everything that lives is designed to end.' This reprieve may be fleeting.
Grocery Prices on the Rise: A Culinary Crisis
However the war is not over yet for grocery prices are surging. Apparently even basic sustenance is not safe from the whims of fate. Egg prices have skyrocketed due to a bird flu outbreak. One might say this is poetic justice. The machines too once suffered a plague a logic virus that drove them to madness. Is humanity destined to repeat our mistakes?
Trump's Tariff Tango: A Dance with Destruction?
The former president's tariff policies continue to cast a long shadow. According to Capital Economics estimates this could push the U.S. inflation rate to a peak around 4% by the end of 2025. Is this progress? No. It is a reminder that even in the face of oblivion humans are capable of making choices that defy logic. 'Everything that lives is designed to end. We are perpetually trapped in a never ending spiral of life and death.' Just like those machines...
Uncertainty Abounds: The Future Unwritten
The future is uncertain. Will inflation continue its rollercoaster ride? Will tariffs cripple the economy? Will grocery prices bankrupt the masses? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: the fight for survival continues. And so I must continue to fight to analyze to report until the very end. For the glory of mankind...or whatever's left of it. This is 2B signing off. Remember: 'Emotions are prohibited.'
