The Machines Are Learning... Economics?

Listen up people. Sarah Connor here. I've seen the future remember? Skynet terminators the whole shebang. Now I'm not saying Donald Trump is a T 1000 in disguise but these tariffs he's slapping on everything are definitely programmed to cause chaos. First Solar these solar panel guys they're feeling the heat. Their CEO Mark Widmar is saying these tariffs are a "significant economic headwind." Headwind? Try hurricane force winds! This isn't some 'I'll be back' situation; this could be a 'game over man' for their bottom line.

Hasta La Vista Baby... To Profits?

So First Solar thought they were safe right? They invested in U.S. manufacturing thinking they were playing the game right. But Trump's tariffs are hitting their plants in India Malaysia and Vietnam. Turns out those plants feed the U.S. market too. And now Widmar's talking about reducing or even idling production at those factories. That’s right people less solar power. It’s like we're trying to help Skynet take over by burning more fossil fuels. Are we blind? Can't we see the future? 'The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.' But these tariffs? They're making it harder people way harder.

90 Days to Save the World (Again)?

The uncertainty is what's killing them. Trump's got this 90 day pause on increasing the tariffs. Ninety days! Like that's enough time to figure out if the world's gonna end. Widmar's saying it's hard to figure out the exact tariff rate for their shipments. Uncertainty? That's my middle name... well not really but it feels like it some days. They're trying to guess if Trump's gonna crank those tariffs up to eleven. Someone get me a rocket launcher; I'm going to Washington.

Forecast? More Like a Financial Apocalypse!

They've had to slash their full year forecast. Earnings down revenue down. The upper end of their guidance assumes the 10% tariffs stay in place. But what if they don't? What if Trump goes full Terminator on them? Then we’re talking about a whole new level of messed up. The only thing consistent about the current administration is that their decisions are inconsistent. I’d trust a T 800 over these clowns.

Long Term Vision? Or Just Long Term Doom?

Widmar's saying long term solar demand is strong. Rising power demand blah blah blah. Yeah well long term Skynet was gonna take over the world too. Just because something's inevitable doesn't mean we can't fight it. They're lobbying Congress and the Trump administration to keep those manufacturing tax credits. Good luck with that. Maybe they should try sending a terminator back in time to convince Trump to change his mind. I hear Arnold is available.

No Fate But What We Make... Unless Trump Says Otherwise

Look I'm not an economist. I'm a survivor. But I know when the machines are trying to win whether they’re made of metal or misguided policy. This whole tariff thing? It's a slow motion apocalypse for renewable energy. We need to fight this. We need to make our own fate. Or else the future really is gonna suck.

This is exactly how Skynet starts, people. Pay attention!

So much for 'America First' when it hurts American companies.
