Trump Slaps Tariffs on Venezuelan Oil?! Run, Forrest, Run!

Life is Like a Box of Oil Tariffs...

Mama always said 'Life is like a box of chocolates Forrest. You never know what you're gonna get.' Well this tariff business is kinda like that except instead of chocolates it's oil and instead of a box it's… well still a box I guess just a complicated one! Mr. Trump he says he's gonna put a 25% tax on any country that buys oil and gas from Venezuela. He posted it on something called 'Truth Social.' I reckon that’s like talking real loud so everyone can hear even the folks way back in the woods.

China in My Oil?

Seems like China's been buying a whole lotta oil from Venezuela – about 270,000 barrels a day! Now Mr. Trump is saying 'Uh oh no no can't be doin' that!' One fella a smart one they call an 'oil analyst,' said this is just another shot at China. It's like Jenny always runnin' away from me! You think you got somethin' then *poof* it's gone!

Oil Prices Go Up Like Bubba Gump Shrimp Stock!

All this tariff talk made the oil prices go up! It's like when Bubba told me about all the different kinds of shrimp – suddenly the shrimp business was booming! These experts are sayin' it might go even higher if Mr. Trump really sticks to his guns. I don't know much 'bout oil but I do know high prices ain't good for folks tryin' to fill up their cars. But don't worry 'cause as Mama said "You have to do the best with what God gave you."

Chevron Gets a Little Break Maybe...

Now this Chevron company they got some kinda permission to keep pumpin' oil in Venezuela but it only lasts 'til May 27th. It's like when Lt. Dan got his legs blown off a little broken at first but somehow he found a way to keep on swimmin'. They're talkin' 'bout Mr. Trump changin' his mind on this deal. So somethin' to do with the Chevron fella talking to Trump. Maybe he offered him some shrimp?

Invading With… Gang Members?!

Mr. Trump is sayin' that Venezuela is sendin' gang members over here like some kind of invasion. He even used a old law from 1798. Seems like they are fighting but a judge Judge Boasberg said that they can't send these fellas back that way. The President ain't too happy and says the judge should be sacked. "Stupid is as stupid does" and I don't quite understand this part...

So there you have it. Tariffs China oil prices and gang members. It's all kinda like that ping pong game I played with the Chinese folks – a whole lotta back and forth and I ain't sure who's winning! But just like Mama said 'Put that day behind you.' I reckon we just gotta keep on runnin' keep on livin' and see what happens next.
