Starbucks faces declining sales and profit, but CEO claims 'Back to Starbucks' plan is brewing change. Is it enough to escape the Netherrealm of losses?

Another Fatality...For Starbucks' Profits!

Foolish mortals! News reaches even the Netherrealm of Starbucks' recent woes. Their earnings are weaker than a Shaolin monk who skipped leg day. The bean counters are weeping and even *I* Scorpion feel a slight twinge of… amusement. They report a pathetic 41 cents per share adjusted when the Wall Street sorcerers expected 49. A clear sign that even the siren song of a venti caramel macchiato cannot always sway the masses.

GET OVER HERE...To the Discount Aisle!

The 'Back to Starbucks' plan huh? Sounds like someone's trying to 'TOASTY!' their way out of trouble. CEO Brian Niccol a man with more hair than business acumen apparently claims momentum. But the numbers speak louder than any promotional jingle. People are flocking to cheaper brews perhaps seeking the same caffeine kick without the exorbitant price. Even I know a good deal when I see one...though I usually acquire my treasures through less savory means.

Half the Profit Double the Problems!

Net income halved like a Lin Kuei assassin after a particularly brutal encounter with yours truly! From $772.4 million to a measly $384.2 million. I've seen more substantial numbers scrawled on the walls of the Living Forest. They claim it's due to restructuring but I smell fear… and burnt coffee.

Five Straight Quarters of Failure? FLawless Defeat!

Five consecutive quarters of slumping sales. That's not a losing streak; that's a fatality! The US and China their biggest arenas are turning their backs. It seems even the promise of a pumpkin spice latte cannot distract from the price tag. Perhaps they should offer a complimentary Hellfire with every purchase. That would get the blood pumping! It has for me.

US Traffic Falls: A Brutal Uppercut!

The U.S. locations saw a 4% decline in transactions. A crushing blow! Even I can see this is…unacceptable. Perhaps they need a new marketing strategy. How about “Buy one get one free or face the Wrath of Scorpion!”? I’m sure that would bring them new customers from Earthrealm. Maybe Shang Tsung would invest?

China: A Flatline Victory?

China's sales were flat. A stalemate! But a flatline is still a line of… nothing! Lower average tickets offset transaction growth. It is like winning a battle only to find your prize is…dust. Perhaps they should try serving it hot.

They need to innovate or they'll be left behind.

I was hoping it was Shang Tsung that was going to buy it so I can see a true turn around.
