The Allfather's Displeasure

Valhalla calls but not for CrowdStrike's riches it seems. Their shares have taken a tumble a fall steeper than Bjorn Ironside after a night of mead! They speak of revenue and earnings numbers that even I Ragnar Lothbrok struggle to fully grasp though I know a good raid when I see one. But the markets expected more and Odin demands glory not excuses. They boast of beating expectations in earnings per share a meager 73 cents against the expected 65 cents. It reminds me of the time Floki claimed he could build a boat that could fly. Ambitious but not quite there is it?

A Loss Worthy of Lament?

They prattle on about a net loss of $110.2 million. Such a loss would make even King Ecbert smirk for he knew the cost of ambition. They claim it's due to increased spending. Well I spent a fortune raiding Paris but the treasures I brought back! What treasures has CrowdStrike brought except perhaps a few lines of code and a lot of explaining to do?

Prophecy or Poor Planning?

Their forecasts speak of future earnings 82 to 84 cents per share but the market gods are fickle. They expected more and disappointment is a bitter draught. Even the Seer in his most cryptic pronouncements couldn't have predicted such a mild outlook. Remember even the gods can be wrong especially when dealing with something as unpredictable as these 'markets'. I wonder have they offered enough sacrifices to the right deities?

Buying Back Loyalty (or Shares)

They intend to spend $1 billion on buying back shares. A bold move like sailing into the heart of England! But is it strength or a desperate attempt to appear strong? It reminds me of the time I offered gold to my enemies to buy peace... it rarely worked. Their CEO speaks of 'stopping breaches'. Perhaps they should start by stopping the breach in their own coffers.

The Blood Eagle of Layoffs

Five hundred souls shall be sacrificed – or as they call it 'laid off'. Five percent of their workforce gone like fallen warriors on the battlefield. A necessary cut they say for future glory. But tell that to the families who now face a winter without warmth. Did they consult the gods before making such decisions? I doubt it. Sometimes I feel like the world has gone soft. Back in my day we didn't lay people off we just sent them to explore new lands... without a map.

The Seer's Final Verdict?

They foresee a 'free cash flow margin above 30%' in the years to come. Empty promises are easy to make. Show me the gold CrowdStrike! Show me the victories! Until then I remain skeptical. Remember my words: "Power is always dangerous. It attracts the worst and corrupts the best." CrowdStrike be wary of the power you seek. For now I sharpen my axe and await your next move. Skål!
