Seems those cable companies you know the ones who used to just hook you up with the boob tube are now all hot and bothered about mobile phones. Yeah baby! They're sayin' it's not just about keeping you hooked on broadband anymore; it's a whole new way to uh *connect* with customers. Giggity!

Bundles of Joy (and Savings!)

So these companies – Comcast with their Xfinity thingy Charter with Spectrum and even little ol' Altice – they're all struttin' their stuff in the mobile game. Apparently almost half the new wireless lines last year came from these cable dudes. And get this: they're cheaper! We're talkin' potentially hundreds of dollars cheaper than those old school wireless plans. That's more money for… uh… *activities*. You know what I mean! Giggity giggity goo!

Investor Snoozefest!

Now you'd think investors would be all over this like white on rice (or Quagmire on well anything that moves!) but apparently they're snoozin'. They're too busy worrying about the broadband biz to notice the mobile magic. One analyst even compared it to when everyone was bummed about pay TV going down the drain and totally missed the broadband boom. Wake up and smell the possibilities people! This is like finding a twenty in your old pants except the pants are a whole new mobile market! Giggity!

Size Matters (and Mobile is HUGE!)

Apparently the mobile market is twice the size of the broadband one. Hellooooooo! Comcast's CFO even said they're the 'challenger' in the $200 billion U.S. wireless market! That's a lot of zeroes! It's like telling me there's a convention of swimsuit models just down the street. Giggity!

Dialing Up the Growth!

And the numbers don't lie! Charter's Spectrum Mobile lines have exploded and Comcast's Xfinity Mobile is right behind. Even Altice is getting in on the action! Sure they're still dwarfed by the big boys like Verizon and AT&T but hey everyone starts somewhere! Remember that time I tried out for the Olympics? Didn't win any medals but I sure learned a lot about… *discipline*! Giggity!

So what's the takeaway? Cable companies are gettin' jiggy with mobile offering cheaper plans and shaking up the whole industry.
