The Machines are Coming...and So Are the Bills
Listen up people. Sarah Connor here. You think fighting Skynet is tough? Try running a business when the economy is doing the tango with disaster. According to some survey – CNBC|SurveyMonkey Q2 2025 Small Business Survey – women small business owners are feeling the heat more than the dudes. And let me tell you when I feel the heat it’s usually because a T 1000 is breathing down my neck. This 'unease,' as they call it isn't just 'headline anxiety'. It's real life baby! Inflation volatile markets and the constant threat of a total economic meltdown. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Like Judgment Day but with spreadsheets.
Hasta la Vista Baby...To My Profits
Men might be strutting around whistling Dixie but us women? We're seeing the writing on the wall. Only 21% of us think the economy is doing 'excellent' or 'good,' compared to 34% of the fellas. Seriously? Are they blind? Or maybe they're Terminators in disguise programmed to be optimistic no matter what. The survey also suggests that 76% of women believe a recession is coming. Well duh! And 27% are sweating bullets over inflation. Welcome to the resistance ladies. We've got bills to pay and a world to save. Again.
Stress Levels: Off the Charts!
The gap in sentiment is like comparing a paperclip to a nuclear warhead. I'm talking extreme. Nearly 70% of us are stressed about our business's finances compared to a measly 55% of the guys. Maybe they're just better at hiding it. Or maybe they're cyborgs with no emotions. Either way I'm stocking up on duct tape and learning how to live off the grid. Because if Skynet can learn so can I.
Trump's Tariffs: Cyberdyne Systems of Trade
The data suggests that 39% of women approve of Trump's presidency compared to 54% of men. Let's talk tariffs fully 63% of women oppose the tariffs compared with 48% of men. Clearly something is rotten in the state of Denmark or at least in the halls of Washington. It likely reflects both the real pressures women business owners face and the broader realities of how different groups experience economic policy. It's like believing a T 800 is going to play nice. Fool me once...
No Pessimism Just Realism...and a Healthy Dose of Paranoia
Don't mistake our unease for pessimism. It's realism pure and simple. We're on the front lines of this economic battlefield and we see the enemy advancing. We're like the Tech Com soldiers of the business world fighting for survival against impossible odds. If you want to survive you gotta stay informed stay vigilant and always ALWAYS have a plan B. And maybe a rocket launcher. Just in case.
