Illumina's Stock Plummets! Did Mr. Bean Accidentally Invest Everything?!

Oh Dear! My Trousers!

Right so I saw this news about a company called Illumina. Sounds a bit like 'ill luminous' doesn't it? Makes me think of when I tried to fix the Christmas lights and ended up plunging the whole street into darkness! Anyway apparently they do something with genes which sounds terribly complicated. Something about sequencing and arrays. Sounds like a fancy way of arranging my socks really. The good news is one of the members of the board is called Mr. Meister which sounds like Master and I am a master of solving problems. Usually by accident of course.

The Curious Case of the Grail Acquisition!

Now here's where it gets a bit like trying to park my Mini in a space three sizes too small. Illumina they bought this other thing called Grail then un bought it then maybe bought it again? It's all a bit fuzzy like when I try to watch telly without my glasses. Apparently it made some important people in Europe very cross! They got fined! I once got fined for trying to pay for parking with a rubber duck. Honestly some people have no sense of humor!

Bean's Financial Fiasco!

Before you know it the stock price took a nosedive! Down down down it goes like Teddy falling off the shelf! They used to be worth loads of money now not so much. Apparently some political thing involving Russia and China are not going well. It all makes me want to hide under the covers with a cup of tea and a biscuit.

A New Broom (or Mop!)!

But wait! There's good news! They've got a new team of people! New leader new board members new everything! Like when I try to redecorate my flat with a tin of paint and a toothbrush. It could be disastrous but who knows maybe it will work maybe not.

Shiny New Gadgets!

And then there's this NovaSeq X! Sounds like something out of a James Bond movie. Apparently it's the latest in gene sequencing technology. Maybe it can help me find my missing sock! It also sounds like there are challenges to revenue due to the new gadgets. Right it's like when I tried to upgrade my telly and ended up with a blank screen. Fingers crossed it all goes well or else I'll be back to watching telly on my phone. And as you know I don't have one.

Will It All Work Out In The End Mr. Bean?!

So what does it all mean? Well if I knew I wouldn't be Mr. Bean would I? But it sounds like Illumina is trying to sort itself out. A bit like me trying to cook Christmas dinner. A complete disaster but somehow you get through it. Hopefully they'll be back on top soon. And maybe just maybe I'll understand what they actually do one day. Now where's Teddy? I think I need a hug.
