By Order of the Board...

Right so Walmart this behemoth of a thing they've just had a quarter that's a bit like a rigged horse race. Missed the sales mark but still managed to pull some rabbits out of the hat with their earnings. They're blaming tariffs those blasted tariffs saying even they're feeling the pinch. And here I thought they were untouchable like the bloody Crown. The whole situation reminds me of a Birmingham back alley – dark unpredictable and someone's always trying to take a cut.

E Commerce: A Ray of Sunshine?

Now here’s a bit of good news even for a cynical bastard like me. Walmart's e commerce is finally making a proper quid. First profitable quarter in the U.S. and globally. They've got those online adverts and that marketplace raking it in. Seems even common folk are happy to buy their cheap shite online. Still reminds me of my own business – diversify or die. It's all about 'adaptation,' as my brother Arthur would say before smashing someones head in.

The Rainey Forecast: Gloom and Tariffs

This Rainey bloke the CFO sounds like he's had a bad pint. Complaining about tariffs being too high. Says the consumer's going to feel it see prices going up. He's right of course. It's like when you're running a bookies and everyone bets on the same horse even the big boys can't swallow it all. But what are we going to do eh? By order of who?

Choppy Waters Steady Hands

He says sales were 'a little choppy'. February was bad March so so April was strong. Sounds like trying to steer a Shelby Company Limited shipment through customs. This bloke says May looks more like April. Good for him. I'll stick to the whiskey. Trade's a wild card same as always. The question is does he know what he is betting on or not? Remember everyone is a whore Grace we just sell different parts of ourselves.

Playing Offense: The Walmart Way

Walmart's plan? 'Play offense' by keeping prices low even if they have to absorb some of the hit. They're cutting back on some orders. Smart move. Never show your whole hand. Like I always say 'Everyone’s a gangster until a real gangster walks in.' They may well come out of this okay for now.

The Big Picture: A Retail Bloodbath?

Walmart's quarterly report is the starting gun of the retail reckoning. Target Home Depot Lowe's – they're all next. Everyone's wondering if the average Joe and Jill can keep spending in the face of these tariffs. Walmart has a few advantages being the biggest grocer and all. But still it's a precarious game. Reminds me as always that in this life one thing is definite you must always have one card hidden.
