NYC: Still King of the Hill!

Alright folks Saul Goodman here your friendly neighborhood lawyer and purveyor of fine legal… uh… services. Listen up! Seems like those rumors about New York City losing its luster are about as true as Jesse Pinkman being a responsible adult. According to some fancy report by Henley & Partners NYC is still the richest city in the world! We're talking 384,500 millionaires! That’s like a client base just waiting to happen! And get this that number's *up* from last year. Apparently even in this economy there's still plenty of 'cake' to go around. Like I always say “Better call Saul!”… for your financial advice of course. I'm a lawyer after all!

America: Land of Opportunity (and Obscene Wealth)

Now hold on to your hats because the good ol' US of A is practically swimming in dough. We’ve got four of the top ten cities with the most centimillionaires – those folks with at least 100 million smackeroos. Besides NYC we’ve got the Bay Area Los Angeles and even Chicago making the list. Who knew the Windy City was so… loaded? Makes me wonder if I should open up a branch office there. "If you're committed enough you can make any story work." That’s what I tell my clients when they have a… *complicated* situation. And let me tell you these cities have some pretty compelling stories to tell when it comes to attracting wealth.

London's Losing Its Luster?!

Hold the phone! London you okay bruv? Seems like our friends across the pond are experiencing a bit of a wealth… *departure*. They're one of the few major hubs seeing a decline in millionaires. Some fancy pants researcher named Andrew Amoils is blaming it on high taxes and the allure of tech hubs elsewhere. Plus Brexit. Apparently leaving the EU didn't exactly make everyone richer. "Money is not the most important thing in life but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the 'gotta have it' scale." And London’s losing its oxygen.

Global South on the Rise!

While some cities are experiencing a wealth slump others are booming like a meth lab in the desert. Cities in the Global South like Shenzhen Hangzhou and Dubai have *doubled* their millionaire populations in the last decade! That's like going from a Kia to a Cadillac Escalade overnight. Dubai in particular is benefiting from those sweet sweet zero income and capital gains taxes. No wonder everyone's flocking there! It's like a legal tax haven… mostly. And hey if you need someone to navigate those tricky international waters you know who to call!

Tech: The New Gold Rush!

Turns out all that Silicon Valley hype was real. Tech is the biggest wealth creator these days. Dominic Volek (sounds like a Bond villain doesn't he?) says tech is where the money is and the numbers don't lie. The US added almost 86,000 millionaires in a year?! It’s a regular gold rush! Though I suspect some of that “gold” might be a little… *ethically sourced* if you catch my drift. "I am not in the meth business. I am in the empire business." And these tech titans are building empires on algorithms and venture capital.

Miami and Austin: The New Hotspots!

Speaking of booms check out Miami and Austin! They're practically swimming in new millionaires. Low taxes sunshine and… well I’m not sure what Austin has but it's working! Miami's millionaire count is up 94% in the last decade! I’m thinking maybe it’s time for Saul Goodman & Associates to expand south. Just imagine – beachfront office a steady stream of wealthy clients… it's enough to make a lawyer drool! "Clearly his taste in women is the same as his taste in lawyers: expensive and flashy." And where the wealthy go so do the… opportunities!

I always knew NYC was where the real money was. Makes me feel good about my tiny apartment here.
