A Teeny Tiny Tumble Upwards!

Right then! So I heard some blokes at the 'National Association of... Things' (important things I suppose) say house sales went up a smidge in May. Just a teeny tiny bit like when Teddy tries to climb the curtains. They said it went up by 0.8%! Can you believe it? It's like finding an extra pea under the sofa cushion but for houses! They predicted sales would go down and were wrong like I am when trying to cook a turkey using a hair dryer!

Mortgage Mayhem: A Sticky Situation!

But hold your horses! These 'mortgage rates' are being as naughty as Scrapper when he steals my sandwich. They’re still high apparently. Lawrence Yun (sounds a bit like 'yawning' doesn't it?) from the Association of Things said these rates are keeping people away from buying and selling like people would keep away from Mrs. Wicket's cat when it has had a rough day. If the rates go down he said more people might buy houses. I hope so! Then maybe even I could get a house big enough for Teddy my car and my toothbrush!

Houses Houses Everywhere!

There are more houses available now! A whole 20% more! It’s like when I accidentally ordered twenty Christmas puddings. But even with more houses they're still selling quickly. Like hotcakes! Well not MY hotcakes because the last time I tried to cook those they ended up stuck to the ceiling. This is why prices are still a bit high. It's a pickle like trying to parallel park the Mini in front of the church!

Expensive Homes: A Right Royal Rip Off!

And oh the prices! A house costs $422,800! Blimey! It's like trying to pay for a fancy restaurant meal with only buttons and lint. Some houses even sold for MORE than they were asking! Can you imagine? It's like buying a banana and then paying extra for the peel! Bonkers! The prices are bananas and are just sitting and waiting for Mr. Bean and his buttons!

Westward Woes and Northeast Niftyness!

The sales went up mostly in the Northeast. They must have found a good bargain there! In the West though sales went down like a lead balloon or like my soufflé when I try to bake one. It's probably because those houses cost more than a trip to the moon! The West is no laughing matter if no one buys a house like no one buys my paintings!

Slow and Steady (ish) Wins the Race!

Houses are taking longer to sell now like when I try to get ready in the morning or when I try to pay at the grocery store. And not many first time buyers are buying houses which is a shame. Still some people paid for their houses in cash! Imagine that! Like having a suitcase full of money! Now where did I put my suitcase of buttons...? Teddy might want a house too after all!
