Is This Bird About to Crash?

Right listen up you lot! Millions are expected to fly this July 4th but the rest of the year? It's looking like a right dog's breakfast! Airlines are wrestling with too many flights and not enough bums on seats. Southwest Airlines CEO Bob Jordan says "The summer is on sale." On sale? It's practically being given away! It's cheaper to fly than to buy a decent bit of beef these days. What is this amateur hour?

£200 Flights? You Having a Laugh?

Domestic airfare is averaging around £200 for a return flight. £200! That's cheaper than my bloody petrol bill! It's down 3% from last year and the cheapest it's been since 2021. Even I could afford that and I've got Michelin stars to maintain! Inflation is down fares are down. What's next they'll be paying us to fly? Don't be a donkey!

Forecasts? More Like Farcical Casts!

Southwest and a bunch of other airlines—Delta American Alaska—have pulled their forecasts for 2025. Pulled them! They're blaming economic uncertainty on again off again tariffs and fewer overseas tourists. Blimey it's like watching a bunch of toddlers trying to bake a soufflé! Next they will blame the eggs. Get it together you muppets! It's utter chaos.

Airlines Cutting Flights? About Bloody Time!

Airlines are finally planning to cut unprofitable flights. Unprofitable? Why were they even running them in the first place? It's like serving a risotto that's still crunchy. Inexcusable! They make most of their money in the summer so if they're struggling now they're properly buggered.

Jobs Data Strong? Don't Get Your Hopes Up!

Jobs data came in stronger than expected but don't start celebrating just yet. One minute the economy is booming the next it's in the toilet. It's like trying to predict what Boris Johnson will say next – utterly impossible! A TD Cowen analyst said demand has been tepid. Tepid? More like stone cold!

International Trips: The Only Thing Cooking!

International trips are the only thing keeping these airlines afloat! Trips from the U.S. to Europe are averaging £650 down from last year and on par with 2019. Asia is even cheaper. The only thing worse would be to have a fish and chips that is not fresh. So there you have it. Chaos cheap flights and airlines scrambling. It's a bloody mess but someone's got to sort it out. Now if you'll excuse me I've got a kitchen to run. And trust me that's far less stressful than running an airline these days!
