Breaking Bad News for the Competition
Alright folks Saul Goodman here your favorite attorney at law and today we're talking about cars...electric cars to be exact! Seems like the Chinese EV market is hotter than a New Mexico summer. We're talking record deliveries price cuts sharper than my wit and enough drama to make Walter White blush. Leapmotor backed by Stellantis is apparently leaping ahead with a 148% year on year growth. 45,067 vehicles delivered in May? That's like selling hotcakes...or maybe blue sky meth if you catch my drift. Their C10 model is flying off the shelves like free money. "Better call Saul!" You might need me to handle all that sudden wealth!
Aito's Got the Power (and Huawei Tech)
Then there's Aito riding high on Huawei tech. They've also smashed records with 44,454 deliveries. And they just launched some fancy schmancy ultra luxury sedan that costs more than my entire wardrobe. 708,000 yuan? That's enough to make even Huell Babineaux sweat! You know all this talk of wealth reminds me 'Money is not everything. But it is enough to buy everything I need.' I said that and I meant it baby!
BYD: Big Dog Big Problems?
Now let's talk about the big kahuna BYD. They're still ruling the roost with a staggering 376,930 cars sold in May. That's enough cars to fill up Albuquerque twice over. But hold on 'cause there's trouble brewing. They've been slashing prices faster than I can cook up a plea bargain and there are whispers of cash flow issues with dealers. And you know what I say when the going gets tough "Better call Saul!" because I see those big numbers and I think...lawsuit!
Price Wars and Evergrande Fears
This whole EV showdown is turning into a full blown price war and folks are starting to get jittery. They're even throwing around the 'E' word—Evergrande. Remember that whole real estate fiasco? Nobody wants another one of those. These price cuts are great for customers I guess but could be bad news for the manufacturers and bad news is my business!
Mixed Fortunes for the Rest of the Pack
Xpeng's doing alright Xiaomi's making noise but some of the other startups are struggling. Li Auto and Zeekr are inching along while Nio is seeing deliveries dip. These companies need to figure out how to stand out from the crowd and maybe just maybe I can help them cook up a marketing scheme that'll blow their competitor's hair back! 'Yeah science!'
Going Global...or Trying To
The Chinese EV makers want to go global but the EU and the U.S. are throwing up roadblocks with tariffs. So they're eyeing emerging markets like Africa which is like trying to sell snow to Eskimos if you ask me! But who knows? Maybe they'll pull it off. And if they need a smooth talker to grease the wheels they know who to call. That's right: Better Call Saul because I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy...
