Oh Dear Another Fine Mess!

Right then just when I thought I had enough pennies saved for a new steering wheel cover for my beloved Mini this happens! Apparently some very important people are saying that car prices are going up up up! And it’s all because of something called ‘tariffs.’ Sounds a bit like ‘terriers,’ and those little dogs can be quite nippy can't they? But these tariffs are even worse! They are like putting a spanner in the works. Oh bother!

Money Money Money! (It's a Rich Man's World...)

According to these experts at Cox Automotive (sounds like a very serious garage) these tariffs are going to add thousands of pounds (or dollars I suppose) to the cost of new cars! Can you imagine? Thousands! That's like buying a whole heap of teddy bears only to find out they've all been stuffed with sprouts instead of fluff! They reckon that both imported and domestic cars will cost more. Domestic cars too?! It's like putting socks on the wrong feet!

The Rollercoaster of Doom!

This Mr. Jonathan Smoke (funny name that) says the car market is like a 'rollercoaster ride'. I hate rollercoasters! All that up and down and screaming! My Mini prefers a nice gentle drive to the seaside. He also said production sales will fall and used car prices will increase! This is all very bad news! I might have to start riding my bike everywhere. Though mind you last time I tried that I got my trousers caught in the spokes. Disaster!

The Foreign Invasion (of Expensive Cars!)

Some car companies are stopping sending their cars to America like Jaguar Land Rover. Blimey! That's serious! It's like when Mrs. Wicket tries to stop Scrapper from coming in – all sorts of chaos ensues! But even the companies that make cars in America are going to have to charge more. Oh crumbs!

Sprouts for Everyone!

They are saying that it might cost an extra $6,000 for imported cars and $3,600 for cars made in the U.S. Sounds like a lot of money! More than I've got in my piggy bank that's for sure! It's all down to these new tariffs on car parts. On top of that there are already tariffs on steel and aluminium! It's like being charged extra for the sprouts at Christmas dinner! Outrageous!

Used Car Blues (and a Teddy)

Even used cars are going up in price! This is simply not fair! Cox Automotive reckons the prices of used cars will go up by 2.1% to 2.8%. A terrible situation! I suppose I’ll just have to polish my Mini extra hard and hope he lasts forever. Perhaps Teddy can drive!
