By Order of the PIPC!
Right listen up. The Personal Information Protection Commission in South Korea they've got their knickers in a twist over this DeepSeek lot. Seems they've been hoovering up data like Arthur at a free bar. Collecting personal information shipping it off to China and the U.S. all without so much as a 'by your leave'. No bloody respect I tell you. And you know what we do with people who don't respect us!
A Chinese Whisper... Or A Data Flood?
They were caught red handed these DeepSeek blokes. Sending user written AI prompts device info the whole shebang to some outfit called Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co. Now the PIPC are saying this Volcano Engine mob is separate from TikTok's ByteDance. Separate my arse! Sounds like smoke and mirrors to me. You think I'm green? I've seen more than one horse race. 'Course they're connected. It's all bloody connected innit?
Security? Or Just Covering Their Tracks?
DeepSeek claims they were using this Volcano Engine's services to improve security. Security! That's a laugh. More like covering their tracks when they're caught. They only stopped shipping the AI prompts after the PIPC started sniffing around. Too late lads. The Shelbys don't forget a thing and obviously neither does South Korea. We both have a good memory like an elephant.
The Rising Tide of Suspicion
This ain't just a South Korean problem see? Other governments Taiwan Australia even the bloody Yanks they're all banning DeepSeek on work devices. It's like I always say 'Everyone's a whore Grace. We just sell different parts of ourselves.' And DeepSeek? They're selling your bloody data!
Corrective Measures... Or Just a Slap on the Wrist?
The PIPC's given them a 'corrective recommendation'. Fancy way of saying 'Don't do it again or else'. They want DeepSeek to destroy the data and set up some legal protocols. That's all well and good but I've seen more teeth on a chicken. Will they actually do it? Will they be back? Well we shall see. 'We get dirty and the world stays clean. That's the mission.'
Peaky Blinders Take: Trust No One!
So what's the moral of the story? Simple. Trust no one. Not DeepSeek not ByteDance not even your own shadow. Keep your cards close to your chest and your data even closer. Because in this world information is power. And power well that's everything.

Sounds like a right mess. Should've known better than to trust them.

Data is the new gold, and everyone's trying to get their hands on it.
