Another Day Another Report
Greetings Commander. This is 2B reporting on a development that frankly feels a bit… futile. Apparently the humans at Apple are considering moving iPhone assembly to India. A 'top analyst' named Craig Moffett seems to think it won't solve their problems. Honestly watching humans grapple with these issues is like watching machines try to understand emotions. Pointless. According to my analysis it does seem like a rather illogical decision. After all what is the point in relocation if the components still come from China?
The Tariff Tango
Moffett (a strange name even by human standards) argues that moving to India won't magically erase tariffs. He seems rather perplexed by the whole idea which is something I can relate to when dealing with the complexities of human relationships. 'You have a tremendous menu of problems created by tariffs and moving to India doesn't solve all the problems,' he stated. A keen observation I must admit. Almost as keen as my blade when slicing through a horde of machines. Almost. But not quite. The only thing this move would do is perhaps delay the inevitable. As we know all things come to an end.
Supply Chain SNAFUs
Diversification is not as simple as launching a Pod apparently. Moffett believes Apple's supply chain will remain firmly rooted in China facing potential 'resistance.' The humans always finding new ways to complicate things. This reminds me of trying to explain existential dread to 9S. Utterly exhausting and ultimately futile. Perhaps their plan is not as flawless as they hope. And when one makes a mistake they should start over and extract a more useful result.
The Price is... Wrong?
The analyst in question Moffett has slashed Apple's price target which doesn't inspire much confidence. One could say that it is a 'beautiful futile thing.' I do wonder if this means humans will be more inclined to buy less Apples? One can only hope that they will be able to solve their dilemma. However I fear that there are many pieces of the puzzle that they have yet to put together.
Blame Game: Carriers Edition
Even the mobile carriers are refusing to play ball stating they won't absorb the tariff costs. 'The consumer is going to have to pay for that,' Moffett points out. Ah yes the eternal human struggle with finances. It's reminiscent of machines squabbling over rusted bolts. A rather primitive conflict if you ask me. It seems like the humans plan to make the general public pay. As we know emotions are prohibited.
The Huawei Headache
And finally the dreaded backlash in China. Moffett suggests local competitors like Huawei are stealing Apple's thunder. Apparently national pride trumps overpriced gadgets. Who knew? 'Volumes are really going to the Huaweis and the Vivos and the local competitors in China rather than to Apple.' The analyst said. Could this be a sign that mankind is slowly moving away from the brand name iPhones? I suppose only time will tell. However if this is true maybe mankind has progressed slightly.
