A Win? Or Just Another Act in the Play?
Well well well what do we have here? Seems the People's Action Party (PAP) has won its *14th* successive election in Singapore. Fourteen! That's like telling the same joke over and over and people still laugh. What's the dealio? Are they in on it or just afraid of what happens when I rewrite the punchline? 'Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair.' You know I am just kidding.
Ninety Seven Seats? More Like Ninety Seven Reasons to Cackle
Eighty seven out of ninety seven parliamentary seats? That's almost impressive. Almost. The opposition tried bless their cotton socks but it seems the good people of Singapore prefer the same old routine. Maybe they think change is a bad joke. Or maybe they just don't like clowns who ask 'Why so serious?' I am so funny!
Prime Minister Wong: The New Face of... Predictability?
Lawrence Wong the new Prime Minister eh? Promises continuity new blood a new style... Sounds like someone's trying too hard. But hey if it keeps the boat afloat while the rest of the world burns who am I to judge? Still a little unpredictability keeps things interesting. Think of me as a 'necessary evil'. Or you know just a very misunderstood comedian.
Recession Risk: That's Not a Smile That's a Grimace
High living costs housing shortages and a looming recession thanks to a delightful trade war. Sounds like the perfect recipe for... well not happiness. But hey maybe a little economic hardship will loosen things up. 'When the chips are down these civilized people they'll eat each other.' Or at least complain a lot. Either way good entertainment. You know I am just kidding.
Flight to Safety? More Like a Fear of Flying!
Apparently Singaporeans are backing a 'known quantity' in these uncertain times. Flight to safety? More like a stampede of the sheep. But hey who am I to question their logic? I'm just a clown with a few too many ideas and an unhealthy obsession with causing a little chaos. Still I like to see the terror in the eye.
So What's the Punchline?
Well the joke's on everyone isn't it? The PAP wins again the economy teeters and I'm still here lurking in the shadows waiting for the perfect moment to... well you know. 'Smile because it confuses people. Smile even if it’s a sad smile because sad is better than scared.' And remember folks it's all part of the show!
