Sweet Zombie Jesus Tariffs Everywhere!

Good news everyone! It seems that many companies bless their tiny minds had been attempting to untangle themselves from China's manufacturing clutches since that buffoon President Trump first took office. They hoped to dodge his 'reciprocal' tariffs but alas it appears they've merely traded one frying pan for another much hotter one good news!

From China Plus One to Oh No!

This latest tariff debacle is turning diversification plans into a catastrophic mess. Steve Greenspon CEO of Honey Can Do International (a truly ridiculous company name if I do say so myself!) tried to outsmart the system by moving production to Vietnam. But with Trump's latest tariff tsunami that bright idea has turned into a big steaming pile of... well you know. To shreds you say?

It's Crushing Saddening Disappointing and Incredibly Hurtful!

According to Greenspon who I'm sure is having a delightful time these tariffs are akin to being attacked by one's own government. Moving back to the U.S.? Preposterous! The labor costs are higher than a giraffe's armpit and the infrastructure is as outdated as my suppositories. Oh my yes! It's like trying to invent the universe with duct tape and a rusty paperclip. It simply won't work you see!

The China Plus One Strategy has been undercut!

Eswar Prasad a professor at Cornell claims that the 'China Plus One' strategy has been utterly decimated. Who could have predicted? Rerouting through Vietnam and India? Shattered! The tariffs have essentially thrown a wrench into the very gears of global trade costing businesses more money. The only advantage being a lesser tariff good news!

Will They Stick?

Daniel Newman of The Futurum Group (catchy name eh?) believes these tariffs are about as permanent as my memory. Countries like Vietnam and India are desperately trying to wheel and deal with Trump. It's like watching two chimpanzees argue over a banana utterly pointless but at least it's entertaining! But if the tariffs remain all those 'China Plus One' investments might as well be flushed down the toilet.

Wait and See or Reshore and Friend Shore?

Many companies are in a holding pattern waiting to see if Trump's mood swings result in reduced tariffs. If negotiations fail we're back to tariff arbitrage moving bits and bobs around like a game of intergalactic whack a mole. The Trump administration claims this is all part of a grand plan to resurrect U.S. manufacturing! How absurd! Some experts suggest onshoring and 'friend shoring' (whatever that is) might happen. However shifting production is slower than a snail covered in molasses and nearly as appealing.

These tariffs are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

I hate tariffs, especially when they're full of sand.
