My Rasengan Sized Prediction for the Future!
Believe it! Naruto Uzumaki here reporting live from… well my desk! Turns out everyone's ditching ramen… I mean US stocks for international goodies! Bank of America says fund managers think stocks outside the US are gonna be the real Hokage over the next five years! Less than a quarter still believe in the US and a measly 5% think bonds will win. It's like trying to convince Sakura chan that I’m cool – tough sell!
Shadow Clone Jutsu… of Investment!
The rest of the world is totally outperforming the US this year! The iShares MSCI All Country World Index ex U.S. ETF is up 15% leaving the S&P 500's 2.6% in the dust! It’s like my Shadow Clone Jutsu but instead of me it's profits multiplying everywhere else but here! This hasn't happened since 2008! Dattebayo!
Bye Bye Dollar! Hello Gold!
The US dollar is down like when I miss a Rasengan target! Seems like President Trump's policies made everyone nervous especially with all those trade tariffs. Now everyone's hoarding gold! Hartnett says "long gold" is the most crowded trade for the third month in a row! Even more popular than the Magnificent Seven stocks which is like saying ramen is more popular than… well nothing is more popular than ramen but you get the idea!
Emerging Markets? More Like Emerging Awesome!
Investors are also jumping into emerging markets and global equities. In June they’re all about the Eurozone EM and banks while ditching US stocks the dollar and… energy? What's next are they gonna cancel ramen?! Oh no please don't.
Etsy Gets a Boost! Believe It!
Even Etsy is getting a boost! Truist raised its price target on Etsy by 9%! They say investors should buy the dip. Apparently Etsy is better protected from those pesky Chinese tariffs than some other online marketplaces. Looks like Etsy is using a Transformation Jutsu of their own!
The Moral of the Story: Diversify Believe It!
So what's the takeaway? Don’t put all your eggs in one basket or all your ramen in one bowl! Diversify your investments keep an eye on the global market and maybe buy some gold… or just more ramen. Because you know ramen is always a good investment! Believe it!
