Meat and Macroeconomics? What's the Connection?
Yo ho ho! Luffy here your future King of the Pirates and I gotta tell ya this whole 'macro' thing sounds way more complicated than finding the One Piece! Apparently some guy named Trump (never heard of him is he strong?) is changing some 'trade policies.' Some Google folks are worried. They said it's too early to tell how much it will be impacted but they said that there would likely be headwinds to its advertising business particularly from the Asia–Pacific region of the world or APAC. Sounds like they are not having meat for dinner!
De Minimis... What is it? Is it Edible?
So this 'de minimis exemption' thingy... apparently it's gonna cause a 'slight headwind' for Google's ads in 2025 mostly from APAC. What's a 'headwind'? Is it like when Nami tries to sail against the current? This Philipp Schindler guy from Google said it. I bet he's got a bigger brain than Usopp... maybe.
Thirty Percent? Sounds Like a Zoro Discount!
These Trump guy signed something that will make things cost 30% more if its value is less than $800? Now I see why Nami is so worried!! She would never let me spend so much on meat!
Temu and Shein Runnin' Scared? Cowards!
These Chinese e commerce apps Temu and Shein are big advertisers on Google but now they're pullin' back. Are they afraid of a little 'macro' storm? Hah! If they were pirates they'd be runnin' scared at the sight of a Sea King! That Schindler guy said Google's 'not immune to the macro environment.' I guess even they can't eat all the meat in the world...sadly.
Cutting Costs? Sounds Like Brook's Budget!
Google's talking about cuttin' costs and consolidatin' teams. Sounds like Brook tryin' to save money for new instruments! Yohohoho! They wanna be 'lean' and 'resilient,' whatever that means. As long as they don't cut my meat budget I'm good! I'm always good anyways!
