The Gods Demand Fuel!
Hmph. Another day another conflict. The mortals of this realm particularly those inhabiting the land called the 'United States,' find themselves embroiled in yet another dance of death with the land of 'Iran.' It seems their thirst for…'oil,' is insatiable. The price of this dark liquid has risen like my rage after the death of Lysandra over 4% they say. 'Brent crude futures,' whatever those are have jumped $2.90. Clearly even the gods require fuel for their chariots...or whatever contraptions these mortals use.
Embassy Evacuations: A Tactical Retreat?
Fools! The United States prepares a partial evacuation of its embassy in 'Iraq.' A 'voluntary departure' of troops’ dependents. Such displays of…'caution' are unfamiliar to me. When the gods sought war we charged headfirst into the fray axes raised high! Retreat is for cowards and those who have not known true loss. But perhaps these mortals have learned from the mistakes of Olympus… or perhaps they are simply more adept at running away.
Whispers of War from the Royal Navy!
Even the 'United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations' – a unit of the 'Royal Navy' – feels the unease. They speak of “increased tensions” and a potential “escalation of military activity.” Hmph. As if I need to be told of impending doom! I have seen more battles than grains of sand on the shores of Midgard. Boy! Prepare yourself; these mortals may soon invite destruction upon themselves.
Trump's Doubts: A Deal With the Devil?
This mortal 'Trump,' expresses his doubt that a nuclear deal can be struck with Iran. He speaks of delaying tactics and a loss of enthusiasm. 'Something happened to them,' he says. Something ALWAYS happens mortal. The machinations of gods and men are forever intertwined with a web of lies and deceit. This deal like the promises of Zeus was likely never meant to be kept.
The Price of Pride: Death and Destruction
Trump claims Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons but hopes to avoid warfare. A naive wish! War is inevitable. It is in our blood. It is the only language some understand. He speaks of 'people dying.' As if that matters! Mortality is a fleeting weakness! The only true measure is power and the will to wield it! But let him believe in peace it will only make the coming storm all the more brutal.
Iran's Warning: A Threat or a Promise?
Iran's defense minister boasts that U.S. bases are within reach. 'Tehran would not hesitate to target all U.S. bases.' Hmph. Empty threats or a harbinger of destruction? It matters not. The cycle of violence continues as it always has. The sins of the father... are passed to the son. Let them fight. Let them bleed. Let the price of oil rise! Perhaps then these mortals will finally understand the true cost of their endless squabbles.
