Pow Pow! Politicians Playing Dress Up?
Okay people Jinx here reporting live from… well my head mostly. Word on the street (the street being the internet duh) is that Trump's sending his Treasury dude Scott Bessent and some trade guy named Jamieson Greer to Switzerland. Switzerland! Land of chocolate and definitely neutral opinions. They’re gonna pow wow with the Chinese about this whole trade war thing. Sounds like a snooze fest but hey maybe they’ll bring back some fancy watches. If they don't start blowing things up what's the point of all this diplomacy? "Here comes Jinx!" ...and maybe a little chaos!
Swiss Misses and Mr. Trade War
Apparently these guys are also scheduled to meet with the Swiss President Karin Ketter Sutter. Sounds important right? Probably just swapping recipes for fondue. Bessent says he wants to "rebalance the international economic system." Rebalance? Is that like trying to balance Fishbones on my head? Good luck with that buddy! It's like I always say "Rules are made to be broken! Like buildings! Or people!"
Greer's Gears Grind for 'Reciprocity'
Then there's Greer who's all about “reciprocity” and “open new markets.” Sounds like he's been hitting the dictionary hard. He wants to "protect America's economic and national security." Ooh scary! Maybe he should just hire me. I’m great at protecting things… by blowing them up before anyone else can get to them! It's like boom! Problem solved. Where's the fun in playing it safe?
China's Ready to Rumble... or Maybe Not?
Trump himself chirped that China wants to meet and negotiate. "At the right time," he said. The right time for what? A tea party? A demolition derby? I hope it's the second one because I've got some new rockets I've been itching to try out! As I always say: "Questions questions questions. Where do they COME from?!" It makes your brain explode!
Geneva: The City of Negotiation
Greer will meet with USTR staff at the USTR Mission to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He will also meet with President Karin Ketter Sutter of Switzerland to discuss negotiations about reciprocal trade. "At President Trump's direction I am negotiating with countries to rebalance our trade relations to achieve reciprocity open new markets and protect America's economic and national security," said Ambassador Greer.
Tick Tock Trade Talks
So what's the verdict? Will these talks be a breakthrough or just another excuse for politicians to fly around the world on my taxes? Only time (and maybe a few well placed explosions) will tell! Stay tuned crazies! And remember "Smile! It confuses people!" ...especially when you're about to blow something up.
