Great Gazoo! What's All This Fuss?

Yabba Dabba Doo! Fred Flinstone here reporting live from Bedrock! I just heard the craziest thing down at the Water Buffalo Lodge – Meta you know the folks behind that picture box thingy are trying to steal all the smarty pants over at OpenAI! They're offering signing bonuses so big they make a brontosaurus burger look like a pebble! Sam Altman the big cheese at OpenAI says they're throwing around rocks worth $100 million just to get folks to sign up. A HUNDRED MILLION! That's enough clams to buy a whole herd of dinosaurs!

A Stone Cold Offer They Can't Refuse?

Now I'm no scientist but even I know that's a lot of dough re mi! Altman says Meta's been trying to hire "a lot of people" from OpenAI but so far none of their best brains have taken the bait. He seems to think Meta's got the hots for OpenAI and thinks they're their biggest competitor. Says their own AI efforts aren't exactly setting the world on fire but he respects them for being aggressive. Aggressive? More like Barney Rubble after a plate of Dino Ribs!

Zuckerberg's Super Sized Superintelligence Lab

Apparently this Zuckerberg fella is personally trying to round up a team for his "superintelligence" lab. What in Bedrock is a 'superintelligence'?! Sounds like something the Great Gazoo cooked up! Meta's been dumping piles of rocks into AI research especially with their Llama thingy. But word on the street (or should I say rock) is they keep delaying their latest AI model 'cause it's not up to snuff. Maybe they should ask Wilma for some tips – she's got the brains of the family!

Paying Big Rocks for Big Brains!

They just tossed $14.3 billion at Scale AI for a stake in their company. Alexandr Wang from Scale AI is heading over to Meta along with a few of his buddies. And get this Wang's supposed to be running this "superintelligence" lab. Sounds like a job for… SuperFred! Nah just kidding. I'll stick to driving my foot powered car.

Altman Thinks It's a Real Bonehead Play!

Altman thinks Meta's plan to offer mountains of money is going to backfire. He says that kind of strategy doesn't build a winning culture. He says they're just trying to copy OpenAI. “That basically never works” he says. You think Meta's going to figure this out? I sure hope so because I'm not sure I can take too much more of this malarkey. Either way it goes if you ever get stuck just remember the Flinstone motto: “If you have a problem don’t worry be happy.”

Meta's Open Source Advantage: A Bedrock Foundation?

Now some smarty pants are saying Meta's not as dumb as they look. Apparently they built the foundation for a lot of open source AI stuff. This Daniel Newman guy says Meta's massive investments will keep pushing them forward. Open source open shmorce! As long as it doesn't involve more work for me I'm all for it! Yabba Dabba Doo!
