Yabba Dabba Doo! Fred Flinstone here bringing you the latest Bedrock buzz! Seems like this fella Trump he signed some new rules about taxes and it's got the big brain colleges in a tizzy. They're slapping a new tax on the fancy schmancy schools especially the ones with tons of clam shells stashed away. Now I ain't no Professor Rockhead but even I know that when you start messin' with money things get complicated!

From 1.4% to 8%? That's More Than Wilma's Shopping Spree!

So here's the skinny: Before these colleges paid a tiny little tax of 1.4% on their mountain of clams. Now they're talkin' about jacking it up to a whopping 8% for some of 'em! 8%! That's like Wilma spendin' all our savings at the Slate Quarry Boutique in one go! And this Grafmeyer fella is calling it a research university tax whatever that is!

Yale Yikes! Big Bucks Gone Bye Bye

Now Yale University that's one of those fancy schools where they teach you how to... uh... well I dunno but it sounds important! Anyway their boss man this Maurie McInnis fella is sayin' they're gonna have to cough up a whopping $280 million in the first year! That's enough to buy a lifetime supply of bronto ribs AND a new stone car for yours truly! No wonder they already froze hirings lowered annual salary increases and delayed several construction projects at the school in anticipation of the tax increase and other federal actions.

Tuition Troubles Ahead? 'I'll get you for this'

Here's the real rub: all these big brains are worried that this tax is gonna make college even MORE expensive! They might have to raise tuition prices or even worse cut back on the financial aid they give to kids who ain't got a dino sized bank account. Robert Franek is telling that these factors may cause tuitions to be higher and reduce the amount of financial aid schools award.

Phillip Levine is saying that college tuition has surged by 5.6% a year. Can you believe it? Seems like these schools are thinkin' of bumpin' up the prices again maybe even as much as 5% or 6%! That's highway robbery I tell ya! Makes a fella wanna stick to good ol' Bedrock Community College and learn how to hammer rocks properly.

So what's a caveman to do? Well I say Yabba Dabba Don't let these colleges price everyone out of a good education! We need smart folks to invent better ways to catch dinosaurs and make life easier not just for the Bedrock elite!
