False. Trade is NOT a Victimless Crime!

As Assistant Regional Manager and volunteer Sheriff's Deputy I Dwight K. Schrute take great interest in matters of national and international security. This China situation is like a bear in the parking lot: you don't ignore it! President Trump may his hands be strong seeks to bolster high tech manufacturing in this great nation. Meanwhile China like Mose with a butter churn is doubling down on their own advanced manufacturing. This my friends is a potential collision of epic proportions. Remember failure is not an option... except in Scranton where it's more of a lifestyle.

Self Reliance is the Backbone...Like My Beet Fueled Physique!

President Xi Jinping not unlike Michael Scott trying to manage a sales team believes self reliance in advanced manufacturing is the 'right path' and 'backbone' of their economy. Well I say self reliance is the Schrute way! Beets bears Battlestar Galactica – all self sufficient! But China's state subsidies? That's like Jim pulling a prank on me: unfair and disruptive. These subsidies distort competition creating a global imbalance. As a volunteer Sheriff's Deputy I am sworn to uphold the law; China is breaking it! This is NOT permissible.

Made in China 2025: More Like Made in Chaos 2025!

China's 'Made in China 2025' plan sounds ambitious like Michael's goals for Dunder Mifflin Scranton. But just as Michael's plans often fall flat so too have some of China's targets. They've missed goals for aerospace and high end robots! This leads to unhealthy competition and global trade tensions. It's a recipe for disaster like letting Kevin cook chili for the office. Trust me I know. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attacks ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...

Rebalancing? More Like a Bear Trying to Ride a Bicycle!

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent thinks we can reach a middle ground with China. He says 'We need more manufacturing they need more consumption.' Optimistic yes. Realistic? As likely as Michael Scott winning a Dundie for being competent. Economists warn that China's reliance on manufacturing will be difficult to shift. It will take American manufacturers years to shift manufacturing onshore and find suitable alternatives. The world economy is hanging by a thread!

Dumping Anxiety: The New Normal?!

China's industrial push is causing anxiety not just in the U.S. but in Europe and developing nations too! They are starting to impose protectionist measures. Even those in G7 are discussing steps to curb China's export saturation. This is like the Coalition for Lactivists (women who breastfeed in public) vs Dwight Schrute! What do we do? Do we stand by and watch America fall!? I think not! We must fight back with everything we have!

The Schrute Solution: Consumption Led Model AND a Beet Based Economy!

Economists suggest China shift to a consumption led model. That's like suggesting Michael Scott become a responsible manager! Unlikely! China needs to divert goods to their domestic consumers but those consumers are wary. My solution? A beet based economy! Beets are sustainable nutritious and universally loved (except maybe by Oscar). The U.S. should follow suit. We need self reliance just like on Schrute Farms. This is a matter of national security and I Dwight K. Schrute am here to protect it.
