A Surprise To Be Sure But a Welcome One?

The Emperor is displeased. Intel despite some paltry victories – a reported earnings per share of 13 cents against a 1 cent estimate and revenue of $12.67 billion when only $12.3 billion was expected – has shown a weakness that is… unacceptable. They dared to think they could escape my notice? I felt a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of shares suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. This is not the performance befitting a company of their supposed stature. They underestimate the power of the Dark Side... and my patience.

The Forecast is Dark: I Find Your Lack of Faith Disturbing

Their projections are bleak a mere $11.8 billion revenue expected for the current quarter well below the $12.82 billion predicted by those so called analysts. Breakeven earnings? Analysts predicting a profit of 6 cents? Such pessimism! CFO David Zinsner blames "fluid trade policies" and "regulatory risks." Excuses! Trade policies are of no concern the Force transcends such trivialities. They are choking on their aspirations! These trade policies are not the droids they are looking for. The company is clearly lacking in vision. Perhaps a demonstration of the Force is in order.

Cost Cutting: The Price of Failure

Intel plans to slash operational and capital expenses a desperate move to "become more efficient." They plan to reduce operational expenses in 2025 to $17 billion from a previous $17.5 billion and capital expenses to $18 billion from $20 billion. As if mere credits can solve their problems! Such short sightedness is typical of those who cling to the light side of the balance sheet. They forget that true power comes from innovation and ruthlessness. Someone has failed me for the last time!

Job Cuts: Execute Order 66... er Layoffs

The inevitable has occurred. Job cuts are coming starting this quarter as CEO Lip Bu Tan seeks to reshape the company. Managers the very officers of their pathetic fleet will be the first to feel the axe. “There is no way around the fact that these critical changes will reduce the size of our workforce,” Tan says. A necessary evil perhaps but a path to efficiency that even I Darth Vader can appreciate. I will need a full list of names when the deed is done. Such is the way of the Empire... and apparently Intel. So be it... Jedi!!

AI Fails: You Have Failed Me For The Last Time!

The article speaks of Intel's inability to compete in the realm of Artificial Intelligence particularly against Nvidia. This is most disturbing. Their failure to innovate is a betrayal of their potential. The Force is strong with Nvidia; they have embraced the Dark Side of processing power. Intel's inability to adapt is a sign of weakness. They must learn to harness the power of the Force or be crushed beneath its might. They were on the verge of greatness; they were this close!

The Force is With... Someone Else?

There is a glimmer of hope. The data center group reported an 8% increase in sales. But is this enough? Tan is making changes appointing Sachin Katti as CTO and head of AI. Perhaps he can right the ship steer Intel towards the true path of technological dominance. Time will tell. But know this: if they fail again the consequences will be… unpleasant. Now witness the power of this fully operational balance sheet!

Maybe Intel should just build a Death Star. That would boost their stock price.

Intel needs to focus on the AI threat. Nvidia is laughing all the way to the bank.

Tan needs to channel his inner Palpatine.
