The Disturbance in the Force (and the Stock Market)

I felt a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of investors suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened. Indeed young Musk has unveiled his 'America Party,' and the market has responded with a resounding 'I find your lack of focus disturbing.' Tesla's stock has plummeted like a Rebel fighter caught in a tractor beam. Perhaps he should have considered the advice: 'Stay on target...stay on target!'

A Party...or a Trap?

Musk believes this new party focusing on a few key Senate and House seats can be 'enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws.' He seems to think he can bend the galaxy... I mean the political landscape... to his will. But beware Musk for even the most powerful Force users can be seduced by the Dark Side. As I once said 'You don't know the power of the Dark Side!'

Trump Strikes Back (at Musk)

Ah the Emperor... I mean President Trump... has weighed in calling Musk's move 'ridiculous' and claiming the Tesla boss has gone 'completely off the rails.' It seems their alliance has crumbled faster than the Death Star under a well placed proton torpedo. Perhaps Musk should remember 'It is your destiny... join me and together we can rule the galaxy...or at least get some tax credits for solar panels.'

The Analyst Strikes Back (with a Note)

One Dan Ives a 'global head of technology research' (whatever that is) has stated that Musk's political diving is 'exactly the opposite direction that Tesla investors/shareholders want him to take.' He also says that 'there is broader sense of exhaustion from many Tesla investors that Musk keeps heading down the political track.' The investors clearly are saying: " NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".

China's Rising Power

But wait there's more! Tesla's car deliveries are down and competition is rising especially in China. It seems the company is facing challenges from all sides. Perhaps Musk should focus on building a more powerful fleet of electric vehicles rather than trying to conquer Washington D.C. After all 'The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force... and a well engineered battery.'

He should be focusing on his core business!

Musk needs to remember his core business is Tesla. All this noise around political parties and his involvement in politics is damaging the company. The force is not strong with him on these decisions. I predict he should take heed before this ends up badly. He needs to be careful not to lose investors. After all 'I am altering the deal. Pray I don’t alter it any further.'
