The Emperor's New Trade War: A Sith's Perspective
I sense a great disturbance in the Force a tremor in the very fabric of the economic galaxy. This… Dalio a financier of some repute speaks of a 'recession' brought about by the… *shudders* …President Trump. Tariffs debts and disruptions – these are not the tools of a well ordered Empire but rather the clumsy blunders of a petulant apprentice. Perhaps the Force is not strong with this one or perhaps he is misguided. He lacks vision and I find his lack of control disturbing!
The Unilateral Galaxy: Order vs. Chaos
This 'multilateralism' he speaks of… it sounds like a feeble attempt at control a 'world order' led by the Americans. A 'unilateral world order' is the way to go! It is true power raw and untamed. Yet even I know that such power must be wielded with precision with the Force as your guide. Trump's 'rapidly changing tariff policies' are like a Wookiee throwing a tantrum. Effective? Perhaps in the short term. Destructive? Undoubtedly. Trade disruptions leads to anger anger leads to hate hate… leads to suffering.
Five Horcruxes of Doom: Economy Politics International Order Technology Nature
Dalio identifies five 'forces' driving history. It is as if he believes he has unlocked the secrets of the galaxy. These forces he says are the economy internal political conflict the international order technology and acts of nature. A Sith Lord understands that these are merely tools. One must learn to control them. To bend them to your will. This President Trump however seems to be controlled *by* them! The fool!
Win Win? There is no Try!
This fool Dalio wants a 'win win' with China. 'Win win?' Pathetic! There is no 'win win' in the galaxy only victory and subjugation! The Sith do not negotiate they dominate! But I do concur with his call for addressing growing debts. Uncontrolled debt is like the dark side seductive and dangerous. It promises power but ultimately consumes you.
The Deficit Strikes Back: A Supply Demand Problem
A deficit of 3% of GDP? This is… acceptable for now. Dalio speaks of a 'supply demand problem for debt.' It sounds as if he is screaming 'I have the high ground!' to the other economists but the economic high ground only lasts until the economic lava starts to burn you alive! Better to control your debts control your destiny. Or risk becoming another charred statistic.
A New Hope... or a Looming Apocalypse?
Dalio warns of a breakdown in the bond market a shock to the monetary system even worse than Nixon ending the gold standard! This is a bold claim and I do not appreciate his lack of humility! This could bring us to the point that 'I find your lack of faith disturbing!' Dalio suggests 'working together' to trim the deficit and discourage conflict. Hmph. Perhaps there is still some hope left in this galaxy. But mark my words if this fails the full power of the Dark Side will be unleashed! And then… *they* will know the true meaning of fear! These are your choices! Either get on board and do what needs to be done. Or I will force choke you!

It's over, Trump! I have the high ground (on trade policy)!

Is it possible to learn this power? (Avoiding recession, that is).

Dalio's right. It's a trap!
