A Disturbance in the Force (and the Rental Market)
I sense a great disturbance in the Force. It is as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced... because they couldn't afford a summer rental in the Hamptons. Yes my loyal subjects the Hamptons rental market is down 30% according to one Judi Desiderio. A name I find disturbing. Brokers of ultra high end properties report a catastrophic drop of between 50% and 75%. Clearly these pathetic deals are altering the deal. I find their lack of rentals disturbing.
Fear Leads to Anger Anger Leads to... Holding Onto Your Credits
Enzo Morabito this... broker speaks of 'uncertainty.' These fools fear the ever changing tariff landscape and the volatile stock market. 'People are holding on to their money,' he says. As they should! Credits are a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. But hoarding them to avoid a Hamptons vacation? Perhaps they should embrace the Dark Side instead. We have cookies.
The Weather? I Find Your Lack of Sunshine Disturbing
Apparently the cold and rainy weather in May is to blame. Pathetic! I Darth Vader control the elements with the Force! These renters wait for the last minute hoping for better deals in a market more expensive than a Death Star rebuild. But mark my words this delay is not a sign of weakness but rather a calculated strategy. They underestimate my power!
Tariffs and the Dark Side of the Economy
Ah the tariffs. A tool as blunt as a lightsaber to a moisture farmer. But even these economic manipulations have consequences. It seems some affluent renters are hesitant. They feel the Force... of economic uncertainty. The post election euphoria was a fleeting moment. But I see through the lies of the brokers. I will use the dark side of the Force to choke anyone who dares to disagree with me.
A New Hope... For Bargain Hunters?
Yet amidst this chaos a glimmer of hope appears! Prices are being slashed by 10% to 20%! Flexibility emerges! Shorter stays are offered! Gary DePersia claims even the best houses are available. This is their weakness. Their overconfidence. But potential renters should beware; the Dark Side always demands a price. Still if you want to save your summer these are the rentals you are looking for...
When Manhattan Awakens So Does the Hamptons... Apparently
The Hamptons real estate market remains strong despite inventory issues. Apparently sales in Manhattan can lift the Hamptons market and according to Morabito some Canadians put a bid on an $18 million house sight unseen. 'When Manhattan comes alive we always follow,' he says. Such obedience is pleasing. But remember the Force will be with you always. Especially when negotiating those rental prices.
