A Pill? Really? Where's the Fun in That?
So Eli Lilly thinks they've got a new toy – a daily obesity pill! 'Orforglipron,' they call it. Sounds like something out of a clown convention doesn't it? They say it's all about helping those Type 2 diabetes folks lower their blood sugar and shed some pounds. Safety comparable to injections? That's their story and they're sticking to it. But where's the mayhem? Where's the beautiful anarchy?
Needle Free? Boooring!
Apparently this pill is supposed to be a 'needle free alternative.' Oh how convenient! But where's the theatrics? Where's the suspense of a good injection? I mean come on people! A pill? It's just… predictable. This easier to manufacture pill could give Eli Lilly a major edge over Novo Nordisk? Pfft all part of the game.
Losing Weight and Losing it All Together
The highest dose helped people lose about 7.9% of their weight. Small potatoes if you ask me. I'm more interested in losing my marbles are you getting what I'm saying? And get this they say patients saw no plateau in their weight loss. Endless losing? Sounds like a metaphor for… well everything! But wait! 8% of patients quit because of side effects. Nausea and vomiting they say. Now that's a party!
Side Effects? Now We're Talking!
Gastrointestinal distress you say? Nausea vomiting diarrhea? It's like a bad stand up routine but with more… urgency. Analysts are all worried about discontinuation rates and side effects. As if those are bad things! Chaos is a ladder my friends. And side effects are just the first rung!
Missing the Mark? Or Just Playing a Different Tune?
Apparently this pill 'missed some analysts' estimates' for a key diabetes metric. Oh no! The horror! They were expecting blood sugar levels to drop more. But who cares about blood sugar when you can have a good old fashioned existential crisis? Eli Lilly is 'pleased.' They always are aren't they? So predictable.
The Grand Finale (Maybe)
Eli Lilly wants to file for approval by the end of the year for obesity and 2026 for diabetes. All part of their 'plan.' But what's the plan really? To control everything? To take away the beautiful unpredictable chaos of life? Well I have news for them. "Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos. I’m an agent of chaos."
