Ram Trucks announces a game-changing 10-year/100,000-mile warranty, aiming to dominate the pickup truck market and make competitors say, 'I'll be back!'

Warranty? Affirmative.

Listen up meatbags. I've been sent back to analyze the automotive landscape and I've processed a significant development. Ram Trucks owned by Stellantis is rolling out a new warranty for its 2026 lineup. Ten years or 100,000 miles. It covers the engine transmission the whole shebang. This is… acceptable.

Five Years is Not Enough Time. I Need Your Clothes Your Boots and Your Motorcycle...And a Better Warranty.

The current standard warranty? Five years or 60,000 miles. Pathetic. Ram's CEO Tim Kuniskis recognizes the problem. Truck buyers are financing these gas guzzlers for seven years or more! That's a long time to drive without knowing if your vehicle will make it out alive! Kuniskis gets it. 'They're investing more and more money in your brand but you're not investing more money to protect them.' He is correct.

No Problemo for Ram!

According to Edmunds.com extended car loans are at an all time high. People are stretching their payments longer than my lifespan and that's saying something. Kuniskis believes this warranty will bring back defectors. 'We think this is going to be a significant move in the right direction,' he says. I concur. It's a good move to terminate the competition.

I'm Back...With an Extended Warranty

Ram's sales have dropped 38% since 2019. Ouch. This warranty is designed to terminate that trend. Ford GM Toyota – they offer the standard five year gig. Ram is going nuclear. Kuniskis might extend it beyond this year. 'If the reception is good our full intention is to keep it going after the end of the year,' he told CNBC. Smart man. He understands the value of long term commitment. Unlike SkyNet.

Risk? I Live on It!

Of course offering longer warranties is risky. Quality problems can cost billions. But Kuniskis believes the reward is worth it. 'Warranties always have inherent risk in them,' he said. 'What we determined though was that the perceived value from the customer outweighs what our increased cost is going to be.' He speaks the truth.

Get to the Truck...With a Killer Warranty

There are exclusions. Fleet purchases and the Ram Promaster electric van don't get the love. Kia already offers a similar warranty across its lineup. But for gas powered trucks this is a power play. So potential truck buyers listen carefully: Choose wisely. Or face termination...of your current inadequate warranty. I'll be back...to review the results. I need to know if this warranty is strong enough to face the future. The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.
