Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost... Or Are They?

Hoom! Gandalf the Grey at your service. I find myself compelled to address a matter of grave concern one that stretches far beyond the Shire and into the thorny affairs of Men. It appears a certain Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland has embarked on a journey of his own – not to Mordor thankfully but to El Salvador. His quest? To champion the rights of one Kilmar Abrego Garcia a man who it seems has been caught in a most unfortunate web of bureaucratic entanglement. One might say 'It's a dangerous business Frodo going out your door. You step onto the road and if you don't keep your feet there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.' Poor Mr. Garcia certainly didn't keep his feet did he?

The Rule of Law: A Precious But Fickle Thing?

Van Hollen speaking with the fervor of a Balrog facing down a wizard declared his mission was not about 'defending the man' but 'defending the rights of this man to due process.' A subtle distinction one might say but crucial. It is as if he's saying 'Fly you fools!' to the erosion of legal principles. He claims that the Trump administration itself admits to wrongfully detaining and deporting Mr. Garcia. A blunder of epic proportions if true. 'If we take it away from him we do jeopardize it for everybody else,' the Senator warned. A sentiment worthy of Elrond himself were he discussing the One Ring perhaps.

One Man's Rights A Nation's Peril?

Now some might scoff and say 'One man? What is one man against such overwhelming power?' But Van Hollen argues that denying the constitutional rights of one man threatens the rights of all Americans. A dire warning indeed. 'The world is changed,' he proclaims channeling Galadriel 'I feel it in the water I feel it in the earth I smell it in the air.' Or perhaps it's just the aroma of political intrigue wafting from the Beltway.

Constitutional Crisis? 'You Shall Not Pass!'... Or Can They?

Van Hollen even dared to utter the dreaded words: 'Yes we are' when asked if the U.S. is in a constitutional crisis. Such declarations should not be made lightly. Are we truly teetering on the brink? Is this a sign of Mordor's influence reaching even the hallowed halls of government? One can only hope that saner minds will prevail and the ship of state can be righted before it founders on the rocks of discord. After all even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

Trauma and Tribulation: A Tale of Woe From El Salvador

The Senator recounts his meeting with Mr. Abrego Garcia describing the 'trauma' he experienced. This man was held in CECOT a prison of ill repute. A grim ordeal to be sure. One cannot help but feel a pang of sympathy for this individual swept away and held against his will. 'Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them Frodo? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment.' Such wisdom applies equally to incarceration and deportation does it not?

Bukele's Gambit: A King Refuses?

Adding to the intrigue President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador refuses to return Mr. Abrego Garcia to the U.S. even after the Supreme Court has weighed in. It appears the Trump administration admits they lack the power to compel his return. What a tangled web we weave! One wonders if Aragorn himself could untangle this mess. The road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone and I must follow if I can. I must follow! To see how this saga unfolds one step at a time...

This whole thing seems like a massive overreaction.
