President Trump's tariffs are making car companies throw their hands up and go 'Gimme More'… money that is! They're talking about raising prices pausing production and even like *gasp* layoffs. It's a whole drama drama drama y'all. As if being a pop icon isn't complicated enough! The White House is saying it's all about boosting American jobs but honey it smells like trouble to me!

Crazy What Tariffs Can Do!

So these tariffs are like a major buzzkill for the auto world. Shares of car brands are dropping faster than my singles on the charts after my conservatorship lol! China's throwing some shade too slapping tariffs right back at the U.S. because baby nobody puts Britney in a corner!! Stellantis the company that owns Jeep Dodge and all those other cool cars is especially feeling the heat. They're down like 7%! It's enough to make you wanna curl up with a tub of ice cream and watch 'Crossroads' on repeat.

Volkswagen bless their hearts is trying to navigate this mess by tacking on import fees. They've even reportedly stopped shipping cars from Mexico to the U.S.! I mean talk about a Britney level breakdown! But hey at least they're being transparent with their dealers. They're like 'We have our dealers' and customers' best interests at heart.' Awww so sweet!

Stellantis is taking things to the next level by pausing production at some of their plants. Which means like 900 workers are getting temporarily laid off. Seriously this is the kind of news that makes me want to scream 'Leave Me Alone!' This is heavy stuff y'all and it's hitting real people hard. It's not just about cars; it's about lives! Maybe I should write a song about it? 'Tariff Troubles,' anyone?

In a desperate move to keep things moving Stellantis and Ford are offering employee pricing to everyone! Talk about a Blackout sale! They're trying to clear out those inventories before the tariffs send prices sky high. Smart move girls! Meanwhile Nissan's Infiniti brand is like putting the brakes on production of some of their crossovers. It's all so complicated! Makes me wanna go back to simpler times like when all I had to worry about was which outfit to wear on stage.

On the bright side some companies are talking about making more cars in the U.S.! Volvo's like 'We need to be better in the U.S. to get around the import tariffs.' Yassss get it Volvo! Make those cars here and create some jobs! It's all about adapting and finding a way to survive in this crazy world. Maybe I should start building my own line of bedazzled cars?
