Goals or Just...Locations?

Okay dolls so I was scrolling through my discover page – you know for 'research' – and I stumbled on this article about Marc and Laura. They're living that *island life* and managing resorts from the Maldives to Cambodia. Like can I hire them to manage my glam room plz? But honestly it got me thinking: is it all just perfectly filtered sunsets and coconut water or is there more to it? Spoiler alert: it's not always easy peachy pumpkin pie!

Trapped! But in Paradise?

Apparently living on those 'one island one resort' situations can feel a *little* like being stuck. Like imagine being surrounded by water and the only escape is a really expensive boat ride. I get that. Sometimes I feel trapped in my closet but only because I have *too* many options lol! Marc says it’s like summer camp for the staff. A 'little community' with 'differences in personalities and opinions'. Translation: drama but with better views. Honestly that's kinda how I feel about my family sometimes... I'm kidding... maybe!

Happy Employees = Happy Guests (Duh!)

Laura makes a point that it's not just about keeping the guests happy; it's about the staff too! Like hello! You can't expect people to serve up smiles if they aren't feeling it themselves. She said that they celebrate staff birthdays. That is so cute! Marc gets out his DJ decks – which is giving me serious Stormi at the turntables vibes. Basically happy team = happy everything which equals me in my feelings. Now I have to celebrate my employees!

Saltwater Humidity and...Reclaiming Forests?

So island life isn't all sunshine and perfectly placed seashells. Laura mentions saltwater causing maintenance issues. Imagine trying to keep your Bentley clean when you are surrounded by the ocean. And in Cambodia she says the forest is trying to reclaim everything! Like Mother Nature is coming for your perfectly landscaped pool area. But then again everything changes. Like who is the new me? I change my mind all the time! That’s the fun of being a human.

Family First (Even From Afar)

Okay this part got me a little in my feels dolls. Being away from family is hard. Marc and Laura have to travel back home every year. My family means everything to me and I can't imagine not seeing them regularly. I'm sure they have the best time but family is family and I’m always in my feelings.

Couples Who Work Together Stay Together?

Okay so working with your partner? That's a whole other level of commitment! Marc and Laura make it work by having separate offices. Like boundaries are key people! She's the organized one and he's the creative one. Opposites attract and also plan awesome resort layouts. It sounds like a dream if you're super organized and your relationship is on track! But honestly what is that? I don't know...
