A substation fire caused chaos at Heathrow, but blame is flying faster than a Millenium Falcon. Was it a planning failure, or just bad luck? The Dark Side weighs in.

A Disturbance in the Force...Field!

I felt a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of flights suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. It appears Heathrow a mere speck in the galaxy compared to the Death Star suffered a 'minor' inconvenience: a fire at a nearby electrical substation. A power outage they say. I sense a great deal of incompetence.

Powerless in the Face of...Electricity?

According to Britain's National Grid there was 'no lack of capacity.' Lies! Deception! As if I haven't heard those before. Their CEO John Pettigrew claims each substation could power Heathrow individually. Clearly they underestimated the airport's need to keep those endless conveyor belts of luggage moving – a logistical nightmare worthy of the Empire itself! Perhaps they should consult with our engineers; they know how to maintain a battle station.

Heathrow Strikes Back (With Excuses)

Heathrow naturally deflects. A spokesperson bleats about how it was 'impossible to operate uninterrupted.' Uninterrupted? The galaxy runs on disruption! As I've always said "I find your lack of faith disturbing." Their CEO Thomas Woldbye whined to the BBC about having to 'switch in' other substations. Excuses are for the weak. The strong seize control! Or at least have a backup plan that doesn't involve burning down a power source. They are as clumsy as they are stupid.

The Blame Game Begins!

IATA led by one Willie Walsh has dared to criticize Heathrow's 'clear planning failure.' Indeed! A single point of failure? A weakness the Rebel Alliance would exploit! Perhaps a thorough investigation is in order. And by 'thorough,' I mean someone will be force choked for this. They should have listened to me! But no they had to be stubborn. And now millions of credits lost to the airlines and tourism.

The Economic Impact is...Significant

Losses they say. Millions of credits. And for what? A failure to plan? Stephen Rooney from Oxford Economics estimates a £4.5 million loss in tourism revenue. Insignificant! Compared to the cost of building the Death Star that is. But I digress. Jonathan Owens from the University of Salford claims the economic impact will be 'massive.' Now that's a word I can get behind. As I have foreseen! Perhaps a new tax is in order? To recoup the losses of course.

You Have Failed Me For the Last Time!

Heathrow has ordered an internal probe. The UK government has commissioned its own investigation. Pathetic. They should learn from the Empire! When there's a failure we eliminate the problem. No more delays! No more excuses! I suggest they use the Force and maybe just maybe they can avoid a similar… unfortunate event. I told them it would come to this! Now they will feel the full power of the Dark Side!

It's always something with Heathrow. Always delays and now this? They're choking on their ambition!

Did someone say 'unprecedented'? I'm starting to think they didn't plan for the 'impossible'!

This is outrageous, it's unfair! How can you be an airport and not have redundant power systems?

This whole situation reeks of 'I have a bad feeling about this'!
