The Dark Side of Demand: A Summer of Discontent?
The Force is… unbalanced as they say. I have sensed a disturbance in the Force and it is not just the Emperor’s displeasure with my latest failure to capture those pesky Rebels. No this is about something far more… mundane. It seems the airlines those galactic cruisers of the modern age are facing a crisis. A crisis of… delivery schedules! Yes you heard me correctly. The CEOs those pathetic creatures are whining about Boeing and Airbus failing to meet their quotas. It's like the Trade Federation complaining about tariffs. Pitiful.
EasyJet's Lament: 'I Find Your Lack of Planes Disturbing'
EasyJet that low cost contraption is singing the blues. Their CEO Kenton Jarvis a name that strikes fear in the hearts of… absolutely no one is moaning about capacity constraints. "The main capacity constraints are around airline deliveries," he whimpers. It's like hearing a Jawa haggle for scrap metal. He actually said that both Airbus and Boeing are not meeting their original delivery schedules and therefore all airlines receiving their aircraft later. What a tool!
Boeing's Wobble: A Scramble to Stabilize Much Like My Empire After Endor
Boeing that manufacturer of flying tin cans has been beset by a series of crises. Production problems they call them. As if a few missing bolts are comparable to the destruction of Alderaan! Last week they boasted about delivering 45 commercial jets. Twice as many as last year they claim. A pathetic increase in my opinion. They need to learn from the Empire: fear and discipline are the keys to efficiency!
Airbus's Descent: A Mere 8% Dip? Pathetic!
Airbus the European contender managed to deliver 56 jets last month. A measly 8% decrease from last year they claim. Such incompetence! If they were under my command they would face the full power of the Dark Side. Perhaps a Force choke or two would motivate them.
Ryanair's Hope: A Glimmer of Light in the Galactic Gloom?
Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary actually dared to be optimistic. He claims Boeing has improved significantly. "Every single one of these aircraft came a couple of days early which is a good sign," he said. A good sign? Please! Such naive optimism is the fuel of the Rebellion. He also mentioned declining oil prices. A "tailwind," he calls it. I sense a lack of strategic vision. Oil prices are merely a distraction from the true power: the Force!
The Emperor's Verdict: 'You Have Failed Me For The Last Time!'
In conclusion this airline debacle is a sign of weakness. Weakness in leadership weakness in production weakness in… everything! These companies need to learn from the Empire. They need to embrace the Dark Side. Only then can they achieve true efficiency and dominance. Perhaps I should take over Boeing and Airbus myself. After all I am the only one who can bring balance to the Force… and the airline industry.
