By George They've Done It!
Honestly I'm starting to think these Muggles are using magic! AeroVironment that drone making company has absolutely smashed expectations leaving analysts gaping like Gilderoy Lockhart after a Memory Charm. Their stock practically did a Wingardium Leviosa rocketing up by more than 24%. I mean $1.61 earnings per share adjusted against an expected $1.39? It’s enough to make even Professor Flitwick proud! Revenue also soared to $275 million leaving the expected $242 million in the dust.
Cramer's Prophecy: The Palantir of Hardware?
Apparently CNBC's Jim Cramer has dubbed AeroVironment the "Palantir of hardware." A Palantir for those not in the know is a seeing stone. Are these drones predicting the future? Are they peeking into Voldemort's plans? Okay perhaps not Voldemort but it certainly sounds like they're on to something big. They've logged record fiscal year revenue of $820.6 million a 14% jump from last year. Someone's been brewing a potent potion of success I reckon.
Net Income: From Dribbles to Dragons!
The net income? Oh it's a tale of rags to riches or rather from dribbles to dragons! AeroVironment reported $16.66 million for the fourth quarter (59 cents per share) compared to a measly $6.05 million (22 cents per share) last year. That's more than a simple Accio charm; it's a full blown financial Transfiguration.
BlueHalo Acquisition: A Defence Tech Power Up!
They've also nabbed BlueHalo a defense tech company specializing in laser weapon systems and space tech for a cool $4.1 billion. Lasers! Space tech! It’s all very exciting even if it does sound a bit…Death Eater ish. According to AeroVironment CEO Wahid Nawabi this acquisition will "further advance their leadership position." Sounds like they're aiming to be the Dumbledore of defense tech if you ask me.
Future Forecast: Expecto Revenue!
Looking ahead AeroVironment expects revenues to range between $1.9 billion and $2 billion for the new fiscal year and earnings between $2.80 and $3.00 per share. 'Expecto Revenue!' indeed! It seems they’ve got a Time Turner skipping ahead to a future overflowing with galleons. Just don't let the Ministry get involved; they'll only mess things up with endless paperwork and Fudge like pronouncements.
In Conclusion: Knowledge is Power Especially When It Comes To Drones
So there you have it. AeroVironment is soaring acquiring and generally being quite impressive. Remember knowledge is power and it seems AeroVironment has more than a few secrets up its sleeve. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go research the ethical implications of weaponized drones. It’s always the quiet ones you have to watch after all.
