They Drew First Blood… But Coach Didn't Die!

Listen up. Coach. Yeah the name might not scream 'jungle warfare,' but these guys have been fighting their own kind of war. They were pushed they were wounded left for dead in the discount bins. But like me they had something to prove. They didn't have nothin'! And now? They're back.

Target Acquired: Gen Z and Millennials

Seems Coach decided to aim their RPG at the young blood – Gen Z and Millennials. Over two thirds of their new recruits are from that camp. Todd Kahn and Stuart Vevers the top dogs at Coach figured out the 'timeless Gen Z client' was their target. Smart move. You gotta know your enemy… err I mean customer. This ain't no 'search and destroy' mission but more like 'search and deploy' style!

Payback is a… Profit!

Tapestry Coach's parent company is singing a different tune now. Revenue jumped 15%! Gross margin at a hefty 77.1%. That's what I call a successful operation. Aneesha Sherman from Bernstein nailed it – taking a 'mediocre mall brand' and turning it into a 'credible luxury contender' is rare. This ain't no walk in the park but they're making it look easy.

The Gear: Brooklyn Tabby and Rogue Handbags

Every good soldier needs their weapons. For Coach it's the Brooklyn Tabby and Rogue handbags. The Brooklyn even snagged the title of 'hottest fashion product'. Demand on Lyst exploded by 332%. It's like finding the perfect M60 for the mission.

Customize or Die (Trying)

Coach got smart and let people customize their gear. Bag charms brooches the works. Pinterest searches for 'bag charm ideas' are through the roof. Seems everyone wants to personalize their gear before hitting the streets much like customizing your weapons for a specific mission. Coach's cherry charm is a total hit selling for $95? What a steal!

Coach Play and Coffee Shops: The New War Zone

Now they're opening 'Coach Play' stores and even Coach Coffee shops. These guys are going all in! Kahn jokes it's an 'overnight success story five years in the making.' Their market cap is up 140%. Fflur Roberts from Euromonitor says they're 'ticking all those boxes in terms of the quality and the value for money'. Sometimes you gotta play the long game to win. Remember living for nothing is worse than dying for something!
