Honestly is this reality or did I accidentally drink Polyjuice Potion again?

Honestly you wouldn't believe the headlines I've been poring over today. It appears that someone and I use that term loosely in the White House thought it would be a brilliant idea to post an AI generated image of *President* Trump as the Pope. The Pope! I mean Merlin's beard where do they get these ideas? It all started apparently after Trump fresh from attending Pope Francis's funeral – yes you read that correctly – jokingly declared that he'd "like to be pope." As if we don't have enough on our plates with He Who Must Not Be Named I mean Trump back in the political arena.

From Truth Social to Divine Intervention: A Journey We Didn't Ask For

The image which originated on Trump's Truth Social account (because of course it did) surfaced as cardinals prepare to elect the next Pope. The timing as ever is impeccable. One might almost suspect a deliberate attempt to… well I haven't the foggiest idea what the intent is and frankly I am at loss of words. Is it satire? Is it a power play? Is it simply another example of the utter madness that has become our political landscape? Your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps a confundus charm has been cast on the entire administration?

He Who Must Not Be Named: Pope Edition

Apparently days after returning from the funeral (where he also met with President Zelenskyy) Trump quipped to reporters that being Pope would be his "number one choice." Of course it would. One has to wonder if he's been reading too many books on power and control – perhaps a slightly misguided interpretation of Machiavelli? I'm starting to think 'Hogwarts: A History' would be more useful for some people.

Social Media Meltdown: A predictable outcome

Unsurprisingly the post has sent social media into a frenzy. Some are outraged (and rightly so in my humble opinion) while others defend it as a 'joke.' A joke? I must have missed the punchline. Perhaps it's hidden in one of those self help books Trump seems so fond of quoting. As Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele rightly pointed out it "affirms how unserious and incapable [Trump] is." Tell me something I don't know.

Deja Vu All Over Again? Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love AI

This isn't the first time the White House has dabbled in AI generated Trump imagery. Back in February we were treated to a vision of him as a king after New York City's congestion pricing program was eliminated. 'Long live the king,' he declared then. Honestly it's as if they're deliberately trying to provoke a reaction. Well mission accomplished.

The Moral of the Story? Keep Your Wits About You!

In conclusion this whole affair is… well it's a bit much even for me. It's a reminder that in these increasingly bizarre times we all need to keep our wits about us remember the importance of facts and logic (Professor McGonagall would be so proud) and never ever underestimate the power of a well placed disillusionment charm... or perhaps just a strong cup of tea and a good book. On second thought I need to catch up on 'Hogwarts: A History'.
