Is the Government Trying to Bamboozle Us With Numbers!?

Bears. Beets. Budget Cuts!

As Assistant Regional Manager (and volunteer Sheriff's Deputy) I Dwight K. Schrute am uniquely qualified to dissect this budget business. The U.S. Senate like a rogue bear in the woods is up to something! They passed some Republican budget blueprint in the dead of night. Sounds like a beet farmer trying to pull a fast one doesn't it? This plan apparently extends President Trump's tax cuts and slashes government spending. Like a volunteer Sheriff's Deputy I must investigate.

Filibuster? More Like a Filibuster of Common Sense!

Apparently these Republicans have a trick up their sleeves – something called 'bypassing the Senate's filibuster.' Sounds like something Michael would try to do to avoid paperwork! They want to pass these tax cuts without those pesky Democrats getting in the way. But here's the kicker: some 'non partisan analysts' (probably city folk who've never wrestled a bear) claim this could add a whopping $5.7 trillion to the national debt. That's enough to buy a lifetime supply of Schrute Farms beets and then some! Unless of course you prefer Battlestar Galactica? Which is idiotic.

Debt Ceiling? I'd Rather Wrestle a Bear!

As if that wasn't enough they also want to raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion! Honestly I'd rather wrestle a bear and I have! Congress has to do this before summer or we risk defaulting on $36.6 trillion in debt. That is an absolute disgrace even Mose knows that is ludicrous! It's like Michael managing the office finances – a complete disaster waiting to happen!

Medicaid Mayhem! A Schrute Farms Emergency!

Of course they claim they'll offset these tax cuts by cutting spending. And where are they eyeing? Medicaid! Democrats are saying these cuts could hurt low income Americans. This is unacceptable! Everyone deserves healthcare just like everyone deserves a good beet. Unless of course they are a volunteer Sheriff's Deputy. Then they deserve better healthcare for going out there and protecting our streets and citizens!

22 Percent Tax Hike! Identity Theft is Not a Joke Jim!

Senator Lindsey Graham (a name that sounds suspiciously like a competitor in a beet growing contest) warns that letting the 2017 tax cuts expire would be catastrophic. "The average taxpayer would see a 22% tax hike!" That is outrageous! That's like someone stealing my beet profits identity theft is not a joke Jim! Millions of families could be affected! People can not be paying a 22 percent tax hike.

House of Horrors or House of Representatives?

Now it's up to the House to debate this monstrosity. Senator Rand Paul bless his conservative heart sums it up perfectly: "Are we cutting spending or are we expanding the debt?" These are great questions. And very true questions! The most alarming aspect is the potential $880 billion in Medicaid cuts. That's what you call a recipe for disaster just like Michael trying to cook a pretzel day meal. But House Republicans bless their hearts want to get to the bottom of it! They want to cut spending and enforce the budget plan! And they may do just that!
