The Semaglutide Saga Begins
Hmph. Another battle fought not with axe and shield but with lawyers and decrees. Novo Nordisk like a vengeful god has smote the upstart pharmacies daring to replicate their precious elixirs Wegovy and Ozempic. These 'compounding' dens as they are called sought to offer cheaper versions of these drugs fueled by shortages and the insatiable hunger of mortals for… thinner waistlines. It seems even the gods of Olympus would be envious of such vanity.
The FDA's Decree: A Divine Intervention?
The Food and Drug Administration – a council of elders if you will – declared the shortage of semaglutide resolved. A bold claim! Like Odin declaring the end of Ragnarok before the serpent's final coil. This declaration paved the way for Novo Nordisk to unleash its legal fury targeting those who dared to concoct their own versions of the drug. Apparently custom made remedies are as welcome as a Spartan in Valhalla during story time. And telehealth companies are not exempted from my wrath. You will not 'Be Better' with compounded drugs fools.
Lawsuits and Fury: A God's Righteous Indignation
Novo Nordisk fueled by profits and perhaps a touch of righteous indignation has launched over 100 lawsuits across 32 states. A veritable crusade against these compounding heretics. They claim it is for the 'safety' of mortals. Perhaps. Or perhaps they simply guard their golden goose with the ferocity of Cerberus. Steve Benz a corporate vice president spouts of protecting Americans. Lies! All lies and deceit! I have seen too much to be fooled again BOY!
Judgement Day in Texas: A Verdict From the South
A judge in Texas – a land known for its bravado and apparently its pharmaceutical disputes – denied the Outsourcing Facilities Association's request to halt the FDA's actions. This means the FDA can now with the swiftness of Hermes pursue the so called '503A' pharmacies. These establishments regulated by states rather than the federal pantheon are deemed unworthy to craft their own versions of the sacred semaglutide. Mark Pittman you have made a wise decision.
The Hammer Falls on 503B Pharmacies: Bulk Compounding Beware
And the FDA's wrath doesn't stop there! The '503B' pharmacies those that dare to manufacture these compounded concoctions in bulk are next in line for divine retribution after May 22. Product seizures and warning letters shall rain down upon them like the fire of Hephaestus. Let them learn the price of defying the established order. As I did long ago with the Olympians. But this time for semaglutide!
Eli Lilly Joins the Fray: A Tale of Two Titans
Novo Nordisk is not alone in this battle. Eli Lilly another titan in the pharmaceutical realm has also cracked down on compounding pharmacies defending their own magical ingredient tirzepatide. It seems the gods of weight loss and diabetes are united in their quest to maintain their monopolies. This is a war they are willing to wage and I do not blame them. The cycle ends here. We must be better.

Finally! Some semblance of order in this chaotic world.

Big Pharma always wins. It is the way of things.

This is just another example of corporate greed.
