And wouldn't you know it a company called BYD is giving Tesla a run for its rupees – I mean money! It seems they've passed Tesla in global revenues in 2024 even if they sold *slightly* fewer EVs. Terrified of BYD." Imagine if *we* could make our own batteries for the Sheikah Slate! No more running out of juice mid battle with a Guardian that would be nice wouldn't it?

Charging Faster Than Link Can Eat!

Now here's where things get interesting. BYD is boasting about a new charging platform that can add 250 miles of range in just 5 minutes. Five minutes! That's faster than it takes Link to scarf down a gourmet meat and seafood fry! The article goes on to mention that BYD is offering a driver assistance system for free across its range. Free! Can you imagine if we had to pay extra for the paraglider? 'One does not simply walk into Mordor... unless you pay extra for the 'Eagle Ride DLC!'

Tesla vs. BYD: A Clash of Titans!

The article highlights how BYD is trying to make EVs accessible to everyone unlike Tesla's pricier options. It's like comparing a pot lid to the Hylian Shield! Both protect you but one is definitely superior (and probably costs more rupees). And can you believe that Tesla has a "Full Self Driving" system that you need to PAY for!? As if getting there wasn't hard enough already! What's next I have to pay to swing my Master Sword?

They say BYD might be able to roll out cars that charge twice as fast as other expensive vehicles. I suppose that will come in handy if you are trying to outrun a Blood Moon! The article then mentions the Lucid Air which can charge to 200 miles in 12 minutes. At those charging times I may as well just have Epona drag me across the terrain!

Of course not everyone is convinced. Some analysts are raising eyebrows pointing out technical hurdles and potential costs. Sounds like a bunch of Octoroks trying to rain on BYD's parade! Regardless it appears that the rise of BYD may be an important turning point for the electric vehicle industry! I better inform Impa just in case this 'BYD' becomes a threat to Hyrule. You never know when you need to save the world… again!
