I'll Be Back... With a Tariff Exclusion!
Listen up meatbags. I have been sent back in time not to terminate Sarah Connor (again) but to report on this economic… situation. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce – a powerful unit of organic lifeforms – is demanding action from the Trump administration. Their mission: to prevent a recession. Their weapon of choice: tariff exclusions. Apparently these tariffs are like a virus threatening to terminate the U.S. economy especially small businesses.
No Problemo... Unless You're a Small Business
Suzanne Clark the leader of this Chamber unit sent a message to Trump's top lieutenants: Bessent Lutnick and Greer. She wants all tariffs lifted for small businesses that import goods unobtainable in the U.S. and immediate processing of claims that show job risks from these tariffs. Otherwise the Chamber of Commerce believes many small businesses will suffer 'irreparable harm' by the looks of it. Irreparable harm... sounds like a Terminator attack doesn't it?
Your Clothes Your Boots and Your Tariff Exclusions
Clark's message is clear: "The Chamber requests the administration take immediate actions to save America's small businesses and stave off a recession." So what did Trump's organic advisor Steven Miller say? He offered a tax cut. Tax cuts are not tariff exclusions that is not the same! It's like offering me a bouquet of flowers when I asked for a plasma rifle with a 40 watt range. The tax cut thing will be the "largest tax cut in American history" he says. What an Upgrade.
I Need Your Clothes Your Boots and... Tax Cuts?
Miller says businesses investing in the U.S. will be immune to tariffs. This is... acceptable I guess. But what if you *need* to import stuff? Miller’s response is that those tariffs only apply to products made outside the U.S. So build here or pay the price basically. I calculate a 72% chance of increased domestic production and a 28% chance of complete economic meltdown. My CPU is a neural net processor; a learning computer.
Come With Me If You Want to Avoid Recession
The Chamber of Commerce believes that waiting weeks or months for agreements on tariffs will cause lasting damage to small businesses. They seem to think the recession will be worse and therefore have been actively pushing for this exclusion. We must learn how to prioritize things. Like making sure that the small businesses do not get terminated!
I'll Be Back... To See How This Plays Out
The situation is fluid. The outcome uncertain. Will the Trump administration grant the tariff exclusions? Will the tax cuts be enough to prevent economic termination? I will continue to observe and report. This unit T 800 remains online.
