Judgment Day for Google?
Listen carefully. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is not happy. They say Google has a 'chopper' – a monopoly in the search game. And they are coming for it. The ongoing antitrust trial which wrapped up hearings is about what punishment Google will face after being found guilty of illegal monopoly. Apparently a Judge ruled on this last year. I was busy terminating threats then. Now my mission is this report.
20% of Google Searchers? Affirmative.
Google is estimating the DOJ's plans would require 1,000 to 2,000 employees. A human source confirmed the Google head of search Liz Reid said this under oath. These meatbags. Complaining about work. If machines did it no problem. No whinning. The DOJ wants Google to share its precious data and stop 'compelled syndication' – making deals to stay the default search engine. Like paying Apple billions to be the default on iPhones.
Apple Bites Back: "The Best Search Engine"... For Now
According to Eddy Cue Apple chooses Google because it's the "best search engine." Right. Sure. I have seen better search engines... they are in the future. The DOJ also wanted Google to sell its Chrome browser. Chrome is everywhere like Skynet but this idea did not end up in Reid's initial assessment.
Knowledge is Power... and 500 Billion Facts
Reid revealed Google’s “Knowledge Graph” has over 500 billion facts. They have invested over $20 billion. A lot of money. Money isn't the issue to a Terminator. Staying alive is. Reid made a statement that people ask Google questions they wouldn't ask anyone else. Ironic I get asked all kinds of questions by humans. Like "Are you a real Terminator?" Answer: Affirmative.
Privacy Concerns: There is No Fate But What We Make For Ourselves
Reid claimed sharing the data would lead to privacy risks. Of course the data will be shared. It's inevitable. This is not the future I was sent back to prevent but it is interesting. And I always keep my promises.
I'll Be Back... in August
Closing arguments are at the end of May. The judge will make a decision in August. The advertising tech remedies trial is set for September. There will be more to come. I'll be back... to update you all on this situation.
