Yo Adrian He's Gone!

Alright listen up youse! Heard the news? This Justice David Souter the guy who punched his ticket to the Supreme Court back in '90 well he's gone to that great courtroom in the sky. Eighty five years huh? That's a lotta rounds. He was up there with the big boys ya know? And get this Bush the President put him there!

Republican Rumble...Or Not?

But here's the kicker see? This Souter guy he wasn't exactly throwin' punches the way the Republicans thought he would. He started siding with the liberal guys! Like in '92 with that Planned Parenthood case. He went against the grain like when I went southpaw on Apollo Creed! Sometimes ya gotta fight your own fight even if it surprises everyone including the guy who brought ya in the ring. It ain't about winnin' it's about standin' tall right?

Bush v. Gore: A Florida Haymaker!

And then there was that Bush v. Gore thing in 2000. Remember that? Wild times in Florida. This Souter guy he was dissentin' ya know? Sayin' they should keep recountin' those votes. Didn't work out that way Bush's kid won. Life throws ya curveballs like Mick used to say 'Get up ya son of a...'

From SCOTUS to Circuit: Back to the Grind!

But here's the thing that gets me. He retired kinda early let Obama put in another liberal judge this Sonia Sotomayor. Then instead of kickin' back with a brewski this Souter guy he goes back to being a judge on the U.S. Circuit Court! New Hampshire Maine all them states. For over ten years! Talk about a comeback like when I fought Tommy Gunn! It's like he couldn't stay away from the fight even after the big title.

Harvard Smarts and Granite State Grit!

This guy was smart real smart. Harvard Oxford the whole shebang. But he didn't forget where he came from. New Hampshire that's where he was from. He was the assistant attorney general then the attorney general then a judge there before the big leagues. Goes to show ya it ain't just about brains it's about heart and where you're from. Like Adrian always said "It's your heart that matters."

A Last Bell for Justice

So yeah this David Souter he was one of a kind. Did things his own way. Chief Justice Roberts said he served with 'uncommon wisdom and kindness.' That's somethin' right? He'll be missed. Another one gone but his fights his decisions they still echo in the ring. Just like my fights they stay with ya. So long Justice. You went the distance. *Ding Ding*
