Agassi's Trading Tennis Whites for Pickleball Paddles! Can He Go the Distance?!

Yo Adrian I'm Playing Pickleball!

Alright listen up youse! Rocky Balboa here. I gotta tell ya this story hit me harder than Clubber Lang in the third round. Andre Agassi the tennis fella with the hair that was… somethin' else is gonna be playin' pickleball! Pickleball! I'm tellin' ya times are changin' faster than I can eat a plate of spaghetti! He's partnerin' up with this Waters kid Anna Leigh supposed to be the best in the world. Maybe he's hoping she can teach him a thing or two like Mickey used to do for me.

Gonna Fly Now... to Naples!

This whole thing's goin' down at the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships in Naples Florida. Naples! Sounds fancy right? Not quite as tough as the streets of Philly but hey gotta start somewhere. They're gonna be slingin' those little plastic balls on April 30th. And get this they're broadcastin' it on CBS Sports Network! Maybe I should tune in see if I can pick up some pointers. Who knows maybe I'll trade in my gloves for a paddle one day!

She Called Me Yo!

So get this it was Anna Leigh Waters' idea! She was lookin' for a partner and she picked Agassi. Agassi! Says he's gonna help grow the sport. That's like me sayin' I'm gonna help grow the cheesesteak industry! But hey if it gets more people movin' and groovin' I'm all for it. Plus she said they're both aggressive players. Now that's what I like to hear! Give it your all like I did in the ring. No matter how many times you get knocked down it ain't about how hard you can hit but about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward!

Pickleball's Blowin' Up Adrian!

This pickleball thing is HUGE! Since the pandemic it's grown like crazy faster than Paulie's temper! They say it's the fastest growin' sport in the US. Who knew? Now they're makin' more money than some women basketball players and soccer players! That's more money than I ever made fightin' Apollo Creed! Sponsorships media deals... it's a whole new world Adrian. A whole new world.

He Got the Bug!

Agassi says he caught the pickleball bug. Claims it's social and inclusive. Well that's nice. I always thought fightin' was pretty social especially when you're trading punches with someone for fifteen rounds! He's travellin' the world promotin' it with Joola. Good for him! At least he's still out there doin' somethin'. Just like Mickey always said 'It ain't over 'til it's over!'

No Major League Dreams Just Yet

Don't expect to see Agassi in the Major League Pickleball anytime soon. He says he's in a different season of his life. That's what happens ya know? You get older things change. But hey at least he's still out there swingin' tryin' to make a difference. That's what matters. Like I always say 'Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up!'
