A Grumble of Discontent!
Good news everyone! It seems that the political climate has become even more convoluted than my family tree! President Trump in a move that I can only describe as 'interesting' – and by 'interesting,' I mean 'likely to cause the universe to implode' – has mobilized around 700 Marines to support the California National Guard in Los Angeles. Apparently this is all to protect federal personnel and property during these… enthusiastic… protests. My feelings? I'm embivalent!'
Arrest That Governor!
But wait there's more! Trump also suggested arresting Governor Newsom for obstructing federal immigration enforcement. Now I may be over 150 years old but even I know that arresting a sitting governor is generally frowned upon. It's the kind of thing that makes you question if maybe just maybe we should all go live on a farm... ON THE MOON! Of course it wouldn't be the first time something crazy happened involving a farm.
Sue 'Em All!
Newsom and Attorney General Bonta are striking back like a photon torpedo! They plan to sue Trump and Defense Secretary Hegseth arguing that Trump's federalization of the California National Guard is unlawful. They claim it violates the Constitution and exceeds his authority. It's like watching a game of intergalactic Scrabble but with much higher stakes! To shreds you say?
No Invasion No Rebellion Just Politics!
Bonta declared "There is no invasion. There is no rebellion." Apparently Trump is just trying to "manufacture chaos" for his own political gain. Honestly I'm starting to wonder if the next election will be decided by a series of robot fights. Now *that's* an idea! Although I feel like i'm already there with Bender around.
Unhinged is as Unhinged Does!
Newsom didn't mince words either calling Trump "unhinged" and claiming this is a step toward authoritarianism. Strong words! Meanwhile labor leader David Huerta got arrested for conspiracy to impede an officer. It's all just one big ball of wackiness and tomfoolery. Good for you for noticing.
Obliterated Los Angeles!
Trump defended his decision claiming Los Angeles would have been "completely obliterated" without the National Guard. He even suggested Newsom and Mayor Bass should be thanking him. Senator Schumer called the whole thing a "diversion." Frankly I'm just waiting for someone to invent a Doomsday device that runs on dark matter. That would really spice things up! Wernstrom!
