Chaos There Is. But Fear We Must Not!
Hmm troubled waters Harvard faces. Like a ship in a storm tossed and turned it is. News of restrictions on international students I have heard. Much disruption this causes. Jamie Beaton a wise consultant speaks. 'Ignore the chaos,' he advises. A Jedi approach this is. Focus on the goal you must young Padawans!
The Force of Harvard: Strong It Is
A gold standard Harvard is yes. Acceptance rate low it has become. But its reputation across the galaxy it still shines. Even with these troubles students still flock. The brand strong it is. Much like the Force it surrounds and binds us. 'A long time to lose some of that trust,' Beaton says. Wise words those are. Hope there is.
Rollercoaster Ride Since Last Thursday
Uncertainty the dark side feeds on hmm? Students nervous understandably so. A battle between Harvard and the government we see. Restrictions on visas attempts to cancel contracts. A 'rollercoaster ride,' Fangzhou Jiang calls it. Patience young ones you must have. For even in the darkest night the Force guides us.
Privilege or Right? A Question This Is
A privilege enrolling foreign students is some say. A source of revenue for Harvard and others. But international students they bring much more. Diversity knowledge and new perspectives. Worth fighting for they are. As Master Yoda once said 'Luminous beings are we not this crude matter!'
A Temporary Halt Victory It Is!
A federal judge the ban has halted. A glimmer of hope this is. But the fight it is not over. A hearing is set decisions to be made. Harvard's president Alan Garber speaks of protecting students' rights. 'A critical step,' he calls it. Together we must stand. 'Do or do not. There is no try.'
Compromise They Will Find
By autumn Beaton predicts a compromise will be reached. The university and the government they will find common ground. Hopeful this makes me. International students vital to the galaxy they are! They contribute much to the Force the economy and the learning. 'Difficult to see; always in motion is the future.'
